"The flooding situation is forecast to last for a long time, so the school is preparing a plan for online teaching," said the Principal of Hai Hoa Primary and Secondary School.

In Nam Hai Lang commune (Quang Tri province), heavy rains flooded most of the schools in the commune. In particular, schools in Hai Tan and Hai Hoa areas were deeply flooded.

The leader of the Department of Culture and Society , Nam Hai Lang Commune People's Committee said that this morning, about 750 preschool children and more than 2,720 primary and secondary school students in the area were absent from school due to flooding. The whole commune has 8 schools from preschool to primary and secondary school and 1 high school.

Due to heavy rain causing traffic disruption, more than 350 students at schools in A Ngo village, La Lay village and Deng village (A Ngo Primary and Secondary School (La Lay commune) had to let students stay home from school this morning to ensure safety.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri issued an official dispatch requesting heads of units and schools to closely monitor developments of heavy rain, floods, flash floods, landslides and other dangerous weather conditions to promptly inform and warn teachers, students and parents to proactively prevent and minimize damage.

At the same time, proactively coordinate closely with local authorities and forces to promptly evacuate students, staff, teachers and employees to safe places before storms and heavy rains occur. Ensure absolute safety for people; minimize damage to property, teaching equipment and school facilities.

The Department of Education and Training requests that, based on the specific situation in the locality, the head of the unit decides to let students stay home from school when there is a risk of unsafety. Do not organize teaching, travel through areas with deep flooding, fast-flowing water or risk of landslides or flash floods.

Proactively deploy plans to prevent and combat natural disasters; reinforce facilities, move assets, equipment, and important documents to safe places.
