Creating a breakthrough in domestic trade development
Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1163/QD-TTg and the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued a Plan to continue implementing the Strategy "Domestic trade development for the period up to 2030, vision 2045" in the province. This is an important orientation to promote domestic trade activities, exploit the maximum potential of the market of more than 3.5 million people of the province, and at the same time contribute to building Nghe An into a trade - logistics center of the North Central region.
According to the plan, in the period of 2026 - 2030, Nghe An province strives for the growth rate of the trade value to reach 9 - 9.5%/year, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue to increase by about 10%/year. By 2030, e-commerce transaction revenue will account for 30 - 40% of the province's total retail sales, 70 - 80% of businesses will participate in large domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms.

By 2045, Nghe An aims for e-commerce revenue to account for over 50% of total retail sales; 70% of urban commercial infrastructure to operate on digital platforms, towards a green and sustainable distribution model.
In addition to developing modern trade, Nghe An province also focuses on upgrading rural and mountainous trade infrastructure; forming a system of markets, distribution centers, supermarkets and modern warehouses, ensuring a synchronous supply of goods between urban and remote areas.
Infrastructure development, digital transformation
To realize the goals, the People's Committee of Nghe An province identified eight key groups of tasks, emphasizing the completion of institutions and trade policies; promoting administrative reform and improving the investment and business environment.
The province will review and adjust plans for the development of the market, supermarket and trade center network, in line with the two-level government model and socio- economic development plans for each locality. At the same time, it will continue to develop policies to support trade promotion, export, investment in rural market infrastructure, logistics development and border trade.
One of the outstanding solutions is to promote digital transformation and e-commerce. Along with that, the province focuses on regularly implementing training programs to improve management skills, digital business and online marketing for businesses and trade managers.
In developing commercial infrastructure, Nghe An encourages socialized investment, building civilized market models, food safety, night markets associated with tourism; developing logistics centers, cold storage, and general warehouses for processing and export. The province will form a green distribution system, a circular economy in trade, ensuring food safety and environmental friendliness.
Towards green, sustainable and inclusive trade
“In addition to infrastructure development and trade digitalization, Nghe An province pays special attention to human and environmental factors. The Department of Industry and Trade - the focal agency assigned to coordinate with sectors and localities to organize training and improve skills for businesses and trade management officers, while strengthening propaganda on green consumption, sustainable trade, anti-counterfeiting and trade fraud”, said Mr. Pham Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghe An province.

The functional sector also promotes the application of information technology and database connection in market management; improves the efficiency of forecasting and early warning of fluctuations in supply, demand and prices.
At the same time, the implementation of environmental protection regulations is integrated into trade and service programs, encouraging businesses to use clean energy, recycle, and limit plastic waste in business.
The issuance of the plan to continue implementing the Domestic Trade Development Strategy is a concrete step, demonstrating Nghe An province's determination in the process of building a modern, deeply integrated, sustainable and consumer-centered trade. With a long-term vision and synchronous solutions, Nghe An is gradually affirming its role as a trade locomotive of the North Central region, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
