In tune with the changes of the homeland

Singer Bach Tra (born in 1992), originally from Dong Hoi. She is a young singer who often performs songs about the Central region, and has many MVs about the two hometowns of Quang Binh - Quang Tri. Early on, she showed her musical talent, so at the age of 16, her parents sent her to study at the Hue Academy of Music.

During her childhood, Bach Tra heard her father, an artist, sing many folk songs of Binh Tri Thien, songs with folk melodies and traditional music. The smooth, profound lyrics and the vibrato of folk music permeated Bach Tra's soul, nurturing her love of music as well as her love of her homeland.

“Since I officially started my career and performed all over the country, many people could not tell whether I was from Quang Binh or Quang Tri . I was born in Dong Hoi but grew up in Vinh Linh. Perhaps it was these two heroic homelands that nurtured the source of love and deep emotions that allowed me to successfully perform many songs such as Quang Tri Love, Remembering Quang Tri, Remembering Suot Mother, Quang Binh My Hometown...”, she confided.

When the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri (old) merged into a new province named Quang Tri, Bach Tra was happy because from now on she could introduce that her hometown, the place where she was born and raised, was Quang Tri. In tune with the changes of her homeland, this female singer has cherished the plan to soon complete a music product to celebrate the establishment of the new Quang Tri province.

Bach Tra said that she, like many others, is expecting and firmly believing that this will be a lever for her homeland to become more prosperous and stronger. “The two lands of Quang Binh and Quang Tri have produced many famous artists. Now that they are under one roof, I believe that the culture and art of the new province will have many steps of development. I hope that the young generation of artists will continue to join hands and combine with each other to create many new musical and artistic products praising their homeland, promoting the culture and art of the province to new heights. I myself will demonstrate that belief by searching for and selecting new songs that are suitable for the great transformation of my homeland to give to the audience,” said Bach Tra.

Wishing to contribute to promoting the new image of Quang Tri

On June 26, on his personal Facebook page, singer Tran Nguyen Thang released the song Quang Tri Hero, which he composed himself. This is a brainchild that Nguyen Thang has cherished and devoted a lot of emotion to since the day he learned about the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri (old) coming together under the name Quang Tri.

Previously, he and author Hoang Dung co-wrote the song "Dua em ve Quang Tri", which is also a product in the emotional flow before the days of the two provinces' unification. Currently, he and his colleagues are actively completing it to introduce it to the audience.

Nguyen Thang confided: “I always want to contribute a small part to cheering and encouraging the spirit of the cadres and people of both my paternal and maternal homelands. I hope everyone will unite to develop together. The song Heroic Quang Tri was written with all my heart to dedicate to the audience, especially the audience in my homeland with so much hope.”

Singer Tran Nguyen Thang (born in 1988), his paternal hometown is Dong Hoi City (old), his maternal hometown is Trieu Phong, Quang Tri (old). Possessing a beautiful, smooth but also powerful voice, he became known after winning second prize in the Sao Mai contest in 2011, chamber music genre organized by Quang Binh Radio and Television Station.

Graduated from the National Academy of Music with a major in vocal music, Nguyen Thang is currently a singer specializing in folk music working in Hanoi. Over the years, in addition to overcoming many difficulties to pursue his passion for music, this young singer has also spent money and time on charity trips and community projects.

For him, the memories of his childhood with his grandmother in Quang Tri are always beautiful. Nguyen Thang said that even though he was poor at that time, the villagers, his uncles, aunts and uncles still loved and protected him and gave him the best things.

“Feeling deeply the love of my homeland, I have long been proud to carry within me the blood of the two heroic lands of Quang Binh and Quang Tri. Now, when the two lands I love have joined their beats, I have more motivation to carry out charity projects, for the community, and release MVs to promote tourism for my homeland,” Nguyen Thang shared.

Inspiration to bring new works to the audience

Possessing a beautiful appearance and a deep, lyrical voice, singer Ho Phuong Lien (born in 1996) impressed the audience when she won the runner-up title of Bolero Idol contest in 2017. After the contest, the young singer from Vinh Linh Steel Fort has made constant efforts to gain a place in the hearts of fans. She diligently practiced, improved herself, appeared in many music programs, released emotional, lyrical music videos about her homeland with a neat demeanor.

Ho Phuong Lien is also one of the young singers who have successfully performed many songs about her hometown Quang Tri and the Central region, including the MV "Quang Binh, my hometown" released in May 2022.

She said: “I was born and raised in Vinh Linh, but I have many relatives and friends in Quang Binh. That is also a part of the personality of the people of my hometown Quang Tri, so every time I sing about Quang Binh or come here to perform, I feel familiar and affectionate, like returning home.”

According to singer Ho Phuong Lien, artists from the Central provinces have always been united, loving and supporting each other. In particular, young singers from Quang Binh-Quang Tri like Ho Phuong Lien have long maintained close relationships, helping each other in work as well as in life.

Therefore, when Quang Tri province was newly established, she firmly believed that the young artist community of the new province would grow stronger, unite and support each other more. On the other hand, having a common hometown name would help Quang Tri singers easily connect and join hands to help their fellow countrymen in natural disasters, hardships or whenever they need to contribute and support especially difficult circumstances in their hometown.

“I have faith in this provincial merger event. In addition to the potential for economic development, I think that in the coming time, the province's culture and arts will have many "new winds" when the feeling of being under one roof is spreading among singers, musicians, writers, poets... This source of inspiration will bring many meaningful and topical works of art, associated with the changing context of the homeland. This July, Phuong Lien will release the MV "Ve Quang Tri yeu thuong" - a composition by musician Tam Khang to celebrate the launch of Quang Tri province", singer Phuong Lien shared.
