On Hung Kings' death anniversary holiday, the Ministry of Industry and Trade 'urgently' postponed the schedule for adjusting gasoline prices

Urgent dispatch No. 2481 has just been sent by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities; key petroleum traders and petroleum distributors.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that Thursday (April 18, 2024) falls on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, which is a holiday (Hung King's Commemoration Day). Therefore, the management of gasoline prices following the management period on April 11 will be implemented on Wednesday, April 17.

Decree 80 dated November 17, 2023, amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 95 and Decree 83 of the Government on petroleum trading, stipulates the time for managing petroleum prices as follows:

The time for operating gasoline prices is carried out every Thursday.

In cases where the price adjustment period coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday, the following procedures apply: If Thursday falls on the last day of the lunar year (the 29th or 30th of the Lunar New Year), the fuel price adjustment will be implemented on the immediately preceding Wednesday. If Thursday falls on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd day of the Lunar New Year, the fuel price adjustment will be implemented on the 4th day of the Lunar New Year.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it shall be implemented as follows: If the fifth day coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period shall be implemented on the preceding Wednesday.

If the Thursday falls on any of the remaining holidays, the petrol price adjustment period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.

In case the price of petroleum products fluctuates abnormally, affecting socio-economic development and people's lives, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is responsible for reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on an appropriate time to manage petroleum prices.

The change of the date of gasoline price management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is carried out according to the provisions of Decree 80 on gasoline business.
