Inauguration of the project bearing the mark of cooperation of the Italian Government

- Ảnh 1. — The Italian ODA Building at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University was built from preferential loans from the Government of the Italian Republic and domestic counterpart funds.

Attending the event were Mr. Marco Della Seta, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Vietnam; Ms. Margherita Lulli, Director of the Italian Development Cooperation Office in Hanoi; professors and scientists from the University of Sassari, Republic of Italy; representatives of departments and offices of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Finance , the Ministry of Health and leaders of Hue City.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Rector of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, this is an important milestone in the long-term cooperation process between Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Italian partners based on the foundation of sustainable academic and scientific cooperation lasting nearly a quarter of a century.

The Italian ODA project for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University has a total investment capital of 171.9 billion VND, of which the preferential loan from the Government of the Republic of Italy is 5.6 million EUR. The Italian ODA building is built on an area of 1,882 m², including 7 floors with a total floor area of 11,618 m². This is a key project to improve the training, research and medical examination and treatment capacity, especially in the field of Obstetrics - Pediatrics and high-tech specialties of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

The project also invested more than 1.11 million EUR in modern equipment for the Institute of Biomedicine and the school hospital, including testing systems, operating room equipment, infection control and other high-tech equipment. At the same time, the project supported the training of 4 PhD students and 19 master's students at the University of Sassari, Italy; provided professional training for 4 staff in the fields of hospital management, infection control, surgery and neonatal care; organized many exchange courses, seminars, online training and scientific exchange trips between the two sides.

Putting the Italian ODA building into use contributes to expanding the capacity to provide high-quality medical services of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, a specialized hospital; at the same time, improving the capacity of practical training and scientific research of the school, practically serving the people of Hue City, the Central Highlands region and the whole country.

- Ảnh 2. — Upon completion, the building will be used for research, training and medical examination and treatment, especially in the fields of Obstetrics and Pediatrics and high-tech specialties of the University Hospital.

The project also contributes practically to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University and in accordance with the direction of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo: "Building and developing the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University according to the national-level School-Institute model and towards international standards; developing the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital to gradually meet the standards of advanced hospitals in Southeast Asia, towards achieving international standards in healthcare".
