Vietnamese sports debut at SEA Games 33
The jujitsu finals will start at 9am and will likely be the first sport to win a medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games. Sai Cong Nguyen and Nguyen Anh Tung will compete in the men's doubles final, while Phung Thi Hong Ngoc and Nguyen Ngoc Bich will represent Vietnam in the women's doubles final. In addition, Vietnamese martial artists will also compete in the finals of 4 weight categories including 62kg for men (Le Kien, Dao Hong Son), 77kg for men (Dang Dinh Tung, Van Suu), 52kg for women (Trieu Thi Hai Yen, Phung Mui Nhinh), and 63kg for women (Ha Thi Anh Nguyen, Vu Thi Anh Thu).

The taekwondo competition started at 11am with the mixed final featuring two Vietnamese athletes, Nguyen Trong Phuc and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha. At 1pm, Pham Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thien Phung, and Nguyen Trong Phuc competed in the men's team final. This is the taekwondo event Vietnam hopes to win gold medals in. At 2pm, the trio of Le Ngoc Han, Le Tran Kim Uyen, and Nguyen Thi Kim Ha competed in the women's team, also full of hope. The highlight of today's competition is the battle of Vietnamese swimmers in the swimming pool, featuring Tran Hung Nguyen and Nguyen Quang Thuan (men's 200m individual medley), Vo Thi My Tien (women's 200m butterfly), Tran Van Nguyen Quoc and Luong Jeremie Loic Nino (men's 100m freestyle), Nguyen Thuy Hien (women's 50m breaststroke), Cao Van Dung and Trinh Truong Vinh (men's 100m backstroke). The qualifying rounds will start at 9:00 AM, while the finals begin at 6:00 PM. Tran Hung Nguyen is the biggest hope, being the reigning champion in the 200m individual medley.
The canoeing competition near the coastal city of Pattaya is also likely to have a gold medal around 3 p.m. (qualifying round starts at 9 a.m.). The biggest hope is placed on Nguyen Thi Huong, the athlete who won 5 gold medals at the 31st SEA Games and won a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics when she competed in the 500m women's double with Diep Thi Huong.
