Fishing nets are a unique cultural feature of coastal fishermen. This activity takes place on days with favorable weather, when the sea is calm and there are no big waves. Fishermen gather in groups of about 10-15 people, using large nets thousands of meters long to catch fish.

From early morning, when the sun had just risen, many tourists gathered at Man Thai beach (Son Tra district) to witness the scene of pulling the net. This is the coastal fishing method of fishermen in Da Nang fishing village.

According to fishermen, the trawl net is so large that it takes more than 10 people to pull it to shore. Trawling requires coordination, from choosing the location to pulling the net to watching the tide.

"Pulling the net is a very laborious job, because we have to use all our strength to collect the net from a distance of nearly 1 km offshore. Although it is hard, thanks to it, fishermen have income, and families always have fresh fish to eat after each trip. Most of the fish caught in the net are anchovies, hairtail fish, scad fish and even squid. When the net is pulled ashore, the fish are still fresh, attracting many people to come and see and buy right there," said Mr. Hoang (residing in Tho Quang ward).

After more than two hours of pulling the net ashore, the fishermen will harvest together. Many types of fish are removed from the net, gathered in one place and sold to the locals and tourists who swim here.

Many types of fish are caught in the net, including anchovies, hairtail, scad and even squid.

Many foreign tourists could not hide their excitement when experiencing for the first time the work of fishermen pulling nets in the waters of Da Nang. They took photos together to preserve memories of their visit to Vietnam.

Fishermen from Man Thai said that they pull their nets close to shore 2-3 times a day in the morning and afternoon. Each time, many tourists come to see and buy fish right there. Many foreign tourists also join the fishermen in pulling their nets to experience this work.
