Seine fishing is a unique cultural tradition of coastal fishermen. This activity takes place on days with favorable weather, when the sea is calm and there are no large waves. Fishermen gather in groups of about 10-15 people, using large nets thousands of meters long to catch fish.

From early morning, as the sun just rises, many tourists gather at Man Thai beach (Son Tra district) to witness firsthand the trawling of fishing nets. This is a coastal fishing method used by fishermen in Da Nang's fishing villages.

According to the fishermen, the seine nets are so large that it takes more than 10 people working together to pull them ashore. The job of pulling the seine nets requires seamless coordination, from choosing the right location to pull the nets to monitoring the tides.

"Pulling the nets is very strenuous work, because we have to exert all our strength to retrieve them from a distance of nearly 1 km offshore. Although it's hard work, it provides fishermen with income, and their families always have fresh fish to eat after each fishing trip. Most of the fish caught in the nets are anchovies, scad, mackerel, and even squid. When the nets are pulled ashore, the fish are still incredibly fresh, attracting many people to come and buy them right away," shared Mr. Hoang (a resident of Tho Quang ward).

After more than two hours of pulling the nets ashore, the fishermen will harvest them together. Many types of fish are removed from the nets, gathered in one place, and sold to locals and tourists swimming at the beach.

According to fishermen in Man Thai, they pull their nets near the shore about 2-3 times a day, in the morning and afternoon. Each time, many tourists come to watch and buy fish on the spot. Many foreign tourists even participate in pulling the nets with the fishermen to experience the work.
