An Khe Sugar Factory expands, increasing capacity to 25,000 tons of sugarcane/day

Accordingly, An Khe Sugar Factory has an annual processed sugar output of over 300,000 tons, accounting for over 20% of the country's sugar output. On average, the Factory contributes VND 200 billion to the provincial budget each year. It is expected that the sugarcane area in the eastern part of the province in the coming years will reach over 40,000 hectares, with a sugarcane output of 3 to 3.2 million tons/crop.

To meet the people's demand for sugarcane consumption in a timely and effective manner, Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company has decided to invest in expanding and increasing the capacity of An Khe Sugar Factory to 25,000 tons of sugarcane/day and expanding and increasing the capacity of An Khe Biomass Power Plant from 95 MW to 135 MW with a total investment of VND 2,015 billion.

In addition, on the basis of using raw materials from molasses of sugar production to create high-value products, the Company is establishing an investment project for An Khe Ethanol Factory with an investment of 1,741 billion VND to be proactive in processing activities, promptly meeting the sugarcane harvesting needs of local people.

To complete the documents requesting approval of investment policy for this project, Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company requests the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and local authorities to create favorable conditions for the two projects to be implemented on schedule.

Presenting the decision and congratulating the enterprise, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Rah Lan Chung emphasized: In recent times, An Khe Sugar Factory has made positive contributions to the province's budget revenue and economic growth; always accompanying in implementing social security policies, solving employment for workers and standing side by side with people in economic development, improving life.

Regarding the Company's investment projects in the coming time, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Rah Lan Chung affirmed: The Provincial People's Committee will direct departments to support and guide businesses on documents and procedures related to project implementation, and at the same time create all favorable conditions for businesses to develop.

Along with that, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Rah Lan Chung hopes that An Khe Sugar Factory in particular and Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company in general will research and invest in a number of factories to process products after producing refined sugar; invest in building a number of bridges in remote areas in the eastern localities of the province and support and share responsibility with Gia Lai province to effectively implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.
