The battle for honours on the south coast continues on Saturday afternoon, as struggling Premier League side Southampton host Brighton & Hove Albion at St Mary's.
The Saints edged closer to a return to the Championship after a 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend, while the Seagulls enjoyed a 3-0 win over Chelsea on Valentine's Day.
Latest Southampton vs Brighton team information
Southampton manager Juric delivered some good injury news at his press conference on Thursday, confirming that Flynn Downes and Jack Stephens are fit and available to play against Brighton.
However, Adam Lallana (hamstring) and Taylor Harwood-Bellis (ankle) remain sidelined, while Ryan Fraser (unspecified injury) and Ross Stewart (calf) are also on the sidelines.
After combining for a consolation goal in the defeat to Bournemouth, Sulemana and Paul Onuachu – who has been involved in three goals in his last four Premier League games – are likely to start again, ahead of youngster Tyler Dibling.
As for Brighton, manager Hurzeler is worried about the fitness of three players ahead of the weekend's match, including Lewis Dunk (ribs), Solly March (fitness) and Pervis Estupinan (unspecified injury), all of whom are being monitored.
Brighton's four long-term absentees are Jason Steele (shoulder), James Milner (thigh), Igor Julio (thigh) and Ferdi Kadioglu (toe). However, after their dominant win over Chelsea, their manager is unlikely to make too many changes to his squad.
Minteh shone with a brace despite being pushed into his preferred left wing-back role, and the 20-year-old could continue there, while Georginio Rutter, Mitoma and Welbeck will lead the attack.

Latest Southampton vs Brighton football review
Knocking out relegation rivals Ipswich Town on February 1 was not the turning point for Ivan Juric’s Southampton, who are still on a one-way road back to the Championship after suffering their 20th Premier League defeat of the season.
Burnley's FA Cup exit took the momentum out of their win over Ipswich, and Southampton were again the victims of a superb performance from Ryan Christie at the weekend. The Bournemouth midfielder provided a delicate assist for Dango Ouattara to head in the opener before unleashing an impressive 20-yard strike himself.
Kamaldeen Sulemana's fine strike gave Southampton some hope as Bournemouth began to falter, but the Cherries quickly regained control and restored their two-goal lead through Marcus Tavernier. The result left Southampton 10 points adrift of safety in the Premier League.
To say that the fans at St Mary’s won’t be having much fun in 2024-25 is an understatement. The club have now lost a shocking seven consecutive Premier League home games – only three teams have lost more (eight in a row), most recently Watford in 2021-22.
Southampton’s problem isn’t getting ahead, it’s failing to hold on to an advantage. They have dropped 20 points from games when they have taken the lead – the second worst return in the Premier League this season, behind only Tottenham Hotspur (21).
That disappointing statistic does not bode well for Southampton as they face a Brighton side that has always bounced back, having come from behind to beat Chelsea in the FA Cup fourth round, before repeating the pattern with a bigger win when Chelsea visit on 14 February.
Kaoru Mitoma got Brighton's goal feast started with a classy finish and work. Yankuba Minteh and Danny Welbeck then took centre stage, with Minteh scoring twice from two Welbeck assists. The win ended Brighton's run of two consecutive Premier League defeats.
Seemingly regaining confidence after a heavy 0-7 defeat to Nottingham Forest earlier this month, Fabian Hurzeler's side have continued to consolidate their position in the top 10, currently 10th in the table, six points behind Chelsea - the team that fell victim to them.
However, Brighton tend to do well against top teams, but often struggle against the bottom. They have won 46% of their games against top 10 sides, but only 25% of their games against bottom half sides.
Brighton's struggles against weaker teams were highlighted by a 1-1 draw at Southampton in November. However, that draw still extended their unbeaten run against Southampton to six since a 2-1 home defeat in December 2020, when Danny Ings scored the winner from the penalty spot.
