Cầu Sông Hạt trên lý trình nối quốc lộ 48 vào bản du lịch cộng đồng Hoa Tiến (Châu Tiến) được xây dựng đã chấm dứt cảnh bất an khi mưa lũ về gây ngập úng
The construction of Song Hat Bridge on the route connecting National Highway 48 to Hoa Tien community tourism village (Chau Tien) has ended the insecurity when heavy rains and floods cause flooding.

The end of the "four-way traffic jam"

When the flood came, the road from National Highway 48 to Hoa Tien community tourism village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau, Nghe An ) was blocked by the strong water flow. The road was low, the spillway bridge was even lower... making many people participating in traffic feel insecure and nervous. But that was a story of a few years ago.

Since the beginning of 2023, the road and bridge have been completed and put into use, ending the flooding situation during the rainy season. Teacher Nguyen Ba Vinh, a teacher at Chau Tien Secondary School, shared: The school is more secure because students in the area can go to school more safely, no longer having to miss school when big floods cause flooding on the roads like before.

We had a whole day to admire, feel, and listen to the locals share about the 6 new bridges that were built and put into use in Quy Chau district, namely Chau Thang bridge, Chau Binh bridge, Song Hat bridge, Dong Minh bridge (Chau Hanh commune); Khe Coc bridge (Tan Lac town); Tong Son bridge (Chau Hoi commune); Ta Chieng bridge (Chau Hanh commune).

Quy Chau District Party Secretary Nguyen Thanh Hoai shared: A few years ago, during the rainy season, many communes were cut off and isolated due to rising river water causing bridges and culverts to be flooded. The district had a hard time assigning forces to stand guard at checkpoints to warn people. However, when the bridges were built and put into use from the beginning of 2023 until now, the deadlock and isolation of the lands was eliminated.

In the Con Cuong area, on the right bank of the Lam River are the communes of Don Phuc, Mau Duc, Binh Chuan, Thach Ngan... with great potential for forest economy and forestry development. However, that potential is being limited by the old suspension bridge, with a load capacity of less than 2 tons. Every day, people and small vehicles cross the bridge in fear.

Chau Thang Bridge (Quy Chau) connecting National Highway 48 with the center of Chau Thang commune has been put into use, eliminating the scene of separation and isolation due to rising flood water on Hieu river.

To break the deadlock of the land, better exploit the potential advantages of the right bank in forestry development, Con Cuong district established a project to build Thanh Nam bridge; connecting Con Cuong town to Bong Khe commune and communes on the right bank. Currently, Thanh Nam bridge has been completed, and the site clearance is underway to construct the southern access road.

Chairman of Con Cuong District People's Committee Lo Van Thao expressed: This is a key and urgent project of Con Cuong District, contributing to completing the traffic network system, meeting the travel needs of the people, promoting economic development, ensuring national security and defense, and eliminating the deadlock of the communes on the right bank.

In addition to the billion-dong bridges from the State budget, each year there are many small bridges, with a total investment of several hundred million dong, built with socialized funds to connect clusters of villages and residential areas in remote areas. Those bridges also carry the great mission of connecting and trading with the outside world to develop the economy and society of the village.

Efforts to build more bridges…

“The bridge connecting the shores of joy”, connecting many lands… will open up many opportunities to change the lives of the land still facing many difficulties in the border of Nghe An. Because with the bridge, the potential and advantages of the lands will be fully exploited; helping to connect and trade with remote villages… However, the construction of bridges in mountainous areas is facing many difficulties due to unpredictable rains and floods and steep terrain, making it difficult to transport raw materials.

The unfinished bridge piers are located on the traffic route from Yen Tinh commune to Huu Khuong, Nhon Mai and Mai Son communes (Tuong Duong).

Just look at the blocking position of the two rigid bridges right on the traffic route from Yen Tinh commune to Huu Khuong, then Nhon Mai and Mai Son of Ban Ve lake area, Tuong Duong, it is very clear. Currently, the construction unit is trying to speed up the progress, overcome the difficulties in transporting materials by boat, ferry across the lake; in calculating the flooded level to pour the bridge foundation pillars...

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director in charge of the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects of Tuong Duong district, emphasized: The construction unit is striving to complete the road and bridge in 2025. However, current difficulties and erratic weather developments make progress very difficult to achieve.

During the field trip at the end of August 2024 of the Ethnic Committee delegation in Ky Son, we witnessed the hurried footsteps of construction workers on key bridge spans in this remote district. Currently, two rigid bridges, replacing Xieng Thu suspension bridge in Chieu Luu commune and Xop Nhi suspension bridge in Huu Kiem commune, are constructing the foundation piers and casting beams.

Both bridges cross the Nam Mo River, an important traffic junction of the mountainous district of Ky Son in connecting from National Highway 7 to the northern communes of the district such as Huu Lap, Huu Kiem, Bao Nam, Bao Thang; carrying a great mission in connecting villages with the district center on the main roads.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district confided: The two bridges are key projects of the district, and are being urgently constructed. We have directed the contractor to make efforts to overcome difficulties in weather and site clearance to complete the project on schedule, serving the travel needs of the people.

The efforts of many workers on the unfinished bridges, full of hustle and bustle. The dream of the bridges is now a reality./.
