Focus on monitoring and preparing for new term elections

On the morning of October 27, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held the 7th meeting to review and give opinions on many important contents under its authority.

Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council attended and chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were comrades: Hau Minh Loi, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Thi Minh Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Thi Thanh Tra, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and leaders of the Provincial People's Council committees.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and delegates discussed and gave opinions on the following contents: Proposed content for thematic supervision of the Provincial People's Council in 2026; plan to implement the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels, term 2026 - 2031; results of work in October, work tasks in November 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

Regarding the proposed content of the Provincial People's Council's thematic supervision in 2026, delegates focused on giving opinions on key issues of special interest to voters, such as: Implementation of legal regulations on dam and reservoir safety management; investment management and operation of hydropower projects in Tuyen Quang province, period 2018 - 2025; supervision of planning, arrangement, placement, and stabilization of residents in areas at risk of being affected by natural disasters; supervision of law enforcement during the implementation of mine closure projects for mineral exploitation units in the province...

Comrade Pham Thi Minh Xuan, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council spoke at the meeting.

Regarding the implementation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, delegates gave their opinions on the need to proactively introduce the structure, composition and allocation of the number of candidates nominated to run for the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term and the contents under the authority of the Provincial People's Council.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Van Son emphasized: The supervision contents must be researched, surveyed, and evaluated comprehensively, balancing between fields; closely following the practical situation, focusing on state management activities, issues of interest to public opinion, voters, and People's Council delegates, associated with deciding important local issues.

Regarding the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels in the context of implementing two-level local government, he requested the Standing Committee members and leaders of the committees to focus on studying the Party's instructions and regulations on elections, the Central's instructions, and the local's instructions, and proactively implement the steps in accordance with the law. He especially noted that the review and adjustment of the structure, composition, and number of candidates must be carried out in a scientific and democratic manner, ensuring the selection of delegates with sufficient qualities, capacity, and prestige to shoulder the responsibility. He requested that the implementation time be proactive to ensure the progress and quality of the upcoming election.

Comrade Tran Thi Ha, Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council spoke at the meeting.

He requested the provincial People's Council committees to urgently complete and ensure that the work is carried out on schedule and with quality, effectively serving the activities of the provincial People's Council, contributing to the overall development of the locality.
