| Provincial Road DT.177, the section connecting Hoang Su Phi commune with Xin Man commune and bordering Pa Vay Su commune, is currently in serious disrepair. |
According to observations, the approximately 40-kilometer stretch of road has suffered significant damage due to prolonged heavy rains. Many sections of the road surface are peeling, riddled with potholes, and in some places, landslides and deep subsidence have occurred, deforming the road surface and posing a danger to people and vehicles. In addition, soil and rocks from the embankment frequently spill onto the road surface, causing localized traffic disruptions. In some areas near the embankment, particularly near the Song Chay 3 and Song Chay 5 hydroelectric dams, the roadbed has eroded, encroaching on the road surface and posing a high risk of landslides. Furthermore, the frequent passage of heavy trucks and construction material vehicles has exacerbated the damage, making travel difficult for residents.
According to residents living along the route, during the rainy season, many sections of the road become muddy and slippery, making it difficult for motorbikes to travel, while cars easily get stuck or break down.

It is known that in April 2025, the former Ha Giang province held a technical opening ceremony for the first phase of the Bac Quang - Xin Man road renovation and upgrade project (DT.177), with a total length of 42.72 km. The road starts from the intersection with National Highway 2 in Tan Quang commune (Bac Quang district) and ends at the center of Nam Dich commune (Hoang Su Phi district).
This road serves the development of tourism and the economy in the western part of the province. Therefore, repairing and upgrading this road as soon as possible is extremely necessary and urgent.
