After the MacBook Air and iPad Air, Apple has now continued to launch the iPhone Air with an ultra-thin design at a special event taking place on September 10 (Vietnam time). Perhaps this is the reason why this smartphone is simply called iPhone Air, instead of iPhone 17 Air as leaked information.
The most outstanding feature of the iPhone Air is that the product is only 5.6mm thin, making it Apple's thinnest iPhone ever.
Besides its thinness, the product also impresses when equipped with the latest generation A19 Pro chip developed by Apple, which the "apple" is confident that this is the most powerful mobile chip on the market today.
However, the iPhone Air is still an iPhone that is not suitable for most users, especially for those who are switching to iPhone for the first time or plan to use the iPhone Air as their main phone.
Here are the reasons why you shouldn't buy Apple's super-thin iPhone Air.
There is only one camera on the back
While most smartphones today are equipped with multiple cameras on the back, the iPhone Air only has a single 48-megapixel main camera. Although the iPhone Air only has one lens, users can still take 2x optical zoom photos.

However, if a cheap phone is equipped with a main camera on the back is understandable, then with a phone priced up to 31.99 million VND (in the Vietnamese market) like iPhone Air but only having one camera is considered unacceptable.
Of course, the quality of photos taken on a phone also depends on the camera sensor, software processing capabilities... but smartphones equipped with multiple cameras, each with a separate function, will help process images better and give more impressive photo quality.
No vapor chamber cooling system
The iPhone Air is equipped with the same A19 Pro chip as the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, but has weaker graphics processing performance because it is only equipped with a 5-core graphics processor, instead of 6 cores like the 2 Pro versions.

In addition, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are equipped with a vapor chamber cooling system, which helps to quickly lower the temperature on the product to achieve the highest performance.
However, the iPhone Air is too thin to be equipped with this vapor chamber cooling system, which means the iPhone Air will not dissipate heat well after a long period of use and may affect the overall performance of the device.
Only eSIM, no physical SIM tray
Due to its extremely thin design, Apple has removed the physical SIM tray on the iPhone Air to make more space for other components and the product only supports eSIM. Apple said that the iPhone Air supports dual eSIM (2 SIM, 2 parallel) and can store information of 8 different eSIMs.

Compared to physical SIM, eSIM has disadvantages such as complexity when switching devices; activating, switching or copying data on eSIM requires Internet; if the user restores the entire device, they will have to scan the QR code from the network operator to restore eSIM, causing a lot of inconvenience; troubleshooting on eSIM is also more difficult than with physical SIM...
So, in case you don't want to use eSIM, iPhone Air is definitely not the choice for you.
Battery capacity may be limited
Apple did not announce the detailed battery capacity of the iPhone Air, but said the product can continuously watch video for 27 hours (or 22 hours if watching online video). According to sources, the iPhone Air is equipped with a modest battery of only 3,149mAh, one of the smallest on the market today.

At the moment, it's still too early to judge the battery life of the iPhone Air, but the slim design will certainly make it difficult for the iPhone Air to be equipped with a large capacity battery.
In addition, at the launch event of the new iPhone series, Apple also introduced a wireless backup battery specifically for the iPhone Air (priced at 2.7 million VND in Vietnam), with the aim of extending the battery life of the product.
This suggests that the iPhone Air will not have good enough battery life, forcing Apple to create a dedicated backup battery for the product.
Thin and light design is not necessarily good
The iPhone Air is only 5.6mm thin and weighs only 165g. However, the thin, light design sometimes makes it uncomfortable to hold and use, not as sturdy as when holding a phone that is thick and heavy enough.

In addition, the super thin advantage of the iPhone Air can be obscured when users use a case. At that time, the most impressive highlight of the iPhone Air will no longer exist.
The AI feature isn't really that exciting.
At the launch event of the new iPhone series, Apple only focused on introducing the configuration and upgrades on the product series, without mentioning the company's Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence features.
In fact, the technology community and users have commented that Apple's AI features are not really impressive and are much inferior to the AI features equipped on other smartphone models.
Therefore, even if the iPhone Air is equipped with Apple Intelligence, this is not necessarily a highlight attractive enough to entice users to spend money to buy this phone.
There are so many choices for 31.99 million VND
The iPhone Air starts at VND31.99 million for the 256GB storage option and tops out at VND44.99 million for the 1TB storage option in the Vietnamese market. In fact, at this price, users will have a lot of choices, including many products with superior features compared to the iPhone Air.

Even with this price, many people will be willing to spend an additional 3 million to own an iPhone 17 Pro (starting price 34.99 million VND) or buy an iPhone 16 Pro Max for 30 million VND.
In addition, with the price of 31.99 million VND, users can also completely own folding screen phones, instead of owning the iPhone Air.
Above are some disadvantages of iPhone Air for users to consider before choosing this phone.
On the other hand, the iPhone Air also has outstanding features such as beautiful design, high-end A19 Pro chip and long-term software support.
