Artists who have contributed a lot to photography and fine arts

BDK - In the field of literature and art, in addition to outstanding writers and poets, the fields of photography and fine arts also recognized the special contributions of artists. The artists were honored to receive the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Award at the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Ben Tre Province (May 1, 1975 - May 1, 2025).

Mrs. Vo Thi Bach Yen (1962)

Photographer Hoang Yen's real name is Vo Thi Bach Yen, from Cam Son commune, Mo Cay Nam district. She started creating art photos in 1999, and in 2008, she was admitted as a member of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association, working at the Photography Sub-Association. In 2012, she was admitted to the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

In 25 years of artistic photography, she has more than 500 works about the land and people of Ben Tre, which have received awards and exhibitions in competitions in the province, the region and the Central. Notably, the photo work "Health for the Community" won the gold medal at the Mekong Delta Art Photography Festival in 2014, the A prize in the Vietnam Photography Excellence Award in 2014, the work "Towards the East Sea" won the first prize in the provincial photography competition in 2014, the work "In the morning sun" won the bronze medal in the Ho Chi Minh City art photography competition in 2011. In consecutive years from 2009 to 2020, her works have won high prizes (second prize, third prize) in the provincial art photography competition...

With her outstanding achievements, she received 3 certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Pham Thanh Long (Pham Boi Anh Thuyen - 1964)

Author Pham Boi Anh Thuyen's real name is Pham Thanh Long, from Giong Trom town. He started writing poetry and prose in 1987. In 1996, he started writing for newspapers. Many of his poems and prose were published in the Central and local Literature and Arts magazines. He has been a member of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association since 1999 and was admitted to the Vietnam Writers Association since 2023.

The representative work of author Pham Boi Anh Thuyen is the poetry collection “Mute Song” (2008). In this collection of poems full of passion, there are 2 poems “The Kơ nia tree always sings on the hill” and “Giử” which won the third prize in the love poetry contest of the Youth Literature Newspaper (Vietnam Writers Association). The poem “My sister” won the third prize in the Can Tho Open Poetry Contest in 2003. The poem “Question Mark” won the third prize in the Binh Duong Open Radio Contest in 2005…

Author Pham Boi Anh Thuyen has won many high prizes in writing and composition competitions inside and outside the province such as: first prize in the Provincial Tang Dynasty Poetry Competition, third prize in the Can Tho Poetry Competition 2004, first prize in the Provincial Poetry and Literary Essay Competition 2019 - 2020, consolation prize in the Competition for Composing and Promoting Literary and Artistic Works and Journalism in 2015... He received a certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee for winning first prize in the Provincial Poetry and Literary Essay Competition 2019 - 2020.

Mr. Tran Dinh Thu (1966)

Poet Tran Dinh Thu, also known by his pen name Hiep Pho, Hoang Pho, is originally from Quang Tri province. He began participating in literary and artistic activities in 1984. He has been a member of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association since 1990; he is also a member of the Vietnam Writers Association, regularly collaborating with Dong Khoi Newspaper, Ham Luong Literature and Arts Magazine, and other newspapers in the country.

During his writing career, poet Tran Dinh Thu has published 7 collections of poems, including: Land of Memories (1998), Subconscious Pain (2000), Dinh Thu Love Poetry (2005), Bowing to Apologize for Childhood (2021), Sitting on the Porch of Life (2022), Gathering Wind by the Old Sky (2022), Carrying Alluvial Sunshine (collectively published, 2023). He also composed the long poems: "Luc Bat Phuong Nam", "Nguoi Me Ham Luong", "Tuong Vi Xu Dua"...

He also won first prize in the writing contest on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, first prize in the Vietnam-Laos contest, third prize in the writing contest on the propaganda industry, and second prize in the writing contest on the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade.

Mr. Tran Trung Hau (1969)

Photographer Trung Hau, from My Chanh commune, Ba Tri district, started his career in artistic photography in 1992. Since then, he has always been involved in artistic photography. He is a member of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association. At the same time, he has also played the role of "leader" of the Ba Tri District Photography Club for more than 20 years.

Photographer Trung Hau has over 170 artistic photos of Ben Tre land and people used and published in newspapers and magazines from local, regional to central levels.

Among the 10 most typical art photography works of Photographer Trung Hau, there are outstanding works such as: "Mother's Heart" won third prize in the Vietnam Environmental Photography Contest in 1999 - 2000. The work "Joy of Clam Season" won B prize in Vietnam Art Photography 30 years accompanying the country's innovation (2017)... and many works participated in exhibitions at major photo contests at the Central and regional levels.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien (1982)

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien has been a member of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association since 2009, specializing in creating sculptures. He was admitted to the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in 2013 and was the Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association of the province for the terms 2014 - 2019, 2019 - 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien's wood and stone sculptures have won awards from the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and have been selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to display at national sculpture exhibitions every year. Typical examples include: "Harvest Season" wood sculpture. "Sewer Cleaning Worker" wood sculpture. "Chua School" wood sculpture. "Return to Finish" wood sculpture. "End of School" stone sculpture. "Golden Season" wood sculpture. Notably, author Nguyen Huu Thien is also the author of many fine art sculptures, statues, and monuments in the province...

With his achievements in the field of sculpture, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien has received 5 certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee for winning awards from the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, regional fine arts exhibitions, and the 2009 Literature and Arts Award from the National Committee of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations.
