After 3 hours of traveling more than 150 km, Huyen arrived in the capital, quickly found a shop that rented ao dai and made an appointment with a makeup artist.

"The first place I visited was Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. Ba Dinh Square was packed with people, filled with the white of Ao Dai and the red flag with yellow star. I felt pride and patriotism rising," she said.

After 30 minutes at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Huyen moved to an alley on Dang Thai Than Street (Hoan Kiem District). Along the small alley, coffee shops were decorated with flags, attracting people to take pictures and enjoy coffee.

Upon arriving, Huyen saw many people lining up, "waiting" to choose the best angle to take a photo. She took the opportunity to capture the moments standing under the red flag with yellow star, the sunlight shining through creating a beautiful effect.

"When I saw the image of Hanoi streets covered with red flags with yellow stars, I was both excited and moved. For me, taking pictures with the red flag with yellow stars is a way for the young generation to express their gratitude and national pride," Huyen said, adding that she would spend the entire weekend in Hanoi and return to Lang Son in the evening to go to work on Monday.

Not only Dang Thai Than street, many roads, alleys and residential areas in Hanoi are decorated with flags, miniature maps, etc., creating a bustling and exciting atmosphere.

Thanks to the viral effect on social networks, Au Trieu Street (Hoan Kiem District) has become more crowded and bustling than usual, especially on weekends. Early in the morning, Ms. Bang Thanh's group (33 years old) traveled more than 40 minutes from Tu Son City ( Bac Ninh ) to stroll around Hanoi's Old Quarter, then stopped at Au Trieu Street at 11 o'clock.

What she didn’t expect was that despite the hot noon weather, dozens of people still arrived early, crowding the beautiful photo corners. She prepared her ao dai and flags, wanting to join in the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country’s reunification with everyone.

"I want the photo taken with the red flag with yellow star to be neat and solemn. The red color of the flag stands out against the green background of the trees and the yellow sunlight, creating a scene that is both sacred and emotional," she said.

A few meters away from Ms. Thanh's group, Ngoc Huong (22 years old, Cau Giay District) held a bouquet of flowers and posed next to the busy traffic and people along the street. Huong and her friend Lan Anh (23 years old) had planned in advance for the photo shoot of the red flag with yellow star, taking advantage of the weekend to take photos on many streets throughout Hanoi.

She commented that "Au Trieu street is the most crowded with people taking pictures, sometimes there are traffic jams", many people have to "give" each other the shooting angle. "This proves that the younger generation is gradually interested in history and national culture, not just "following the trend". During the historic days of April, I felt extremely proud when walking among the streets filled with flags and flowers", Huong said.

Not having time to book a flight to Ho Chi Minh City to watch the parade on April 30, Huong felt a bit regretful and said she would follow the program through the media.

Ms. Kieu Oanh, a parking attendant on Au Trieu Street, said that for the past two weeks, a large number of people have flocked to the street to take photos of the red flag with a yellow star, most concentrated on weekends. Keeping up with the trend, Ms. Oanh set up a small stall selling handheld national flags and accessories printed with the red flag with a yellow star to serve customers.

Alley 150 Yen Phu is known as the "flower alley" in Hanoi.

In the early afternoon, Lane 150 Yen Phu (Tay Ho District) - known as the "lane of flags and flowers" - was bustling with "muses" wearing ao dai and conical hats lining up. For a long time, the small slope with rows of red flags with yellow stars has become a familiar place to take photos during holidays in Hanoi.

"The simple arrangement has created a peaceful beauty for the alley. Although it is only decorated with a few rows of flags combined with a small slope, it looks very poetic in photos," said Nguyen Dung (28 years old), and revealed that he traveled more than 50 km from Bac Ninh province to take a photo series to join in the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.

Wearing a white ao dai, a Southern checkered scarf, and a conical hat with the national flag printed on it, Bang Bang (20 years old) stood under the row of flags and the sun, posing solemnly after waiting 15 minutes for her turn.

"Every time there are major national holidays, young people like me always want to express our patriotism through meaningful photos, expressing the spirit of North and South reuniting as one family," the female student said.

Bang Bang moved from Bac Lieu to Hanoi to study for nearly 2 years, living in a university dormitory in Ha Dong District. A month ago, the female student planned to take a series of photos in ao dai at some famous locations, but due to being busy with exams, she could only do it close to the April 30 holiday.

Despite the long queue under the hot sun, Bang did not feel tired. The female student said that everyone reminded each other to take photos politely, not to make noise that would affect the households living in the alley, and to give way to vehicles going up and down the slope.

"In addition to this location, I also plan to take more photos at Uncle Ho's Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, the Old Quarter and historical sites," Bang said.
