According to information from the Tax Department ( Ministry of Finance ), up to now, the tax authority has collected 4,955 billion VND in tax debt from 7,309 taxpayers who are temporarily suspended from leaving the country. Of these, 2,694 are abandoning their business addresses, with the collected amount of 256 billion VND.
However, in reality, sending a notice of temporary suspension of exit by traditional administrative methods such as paper documents or express delivery... risks delays, lack of synchronization in data processing and unnecessary administrative costs.
These limitations partly reduce the effectiveness of inter-sectoral coordination, causing difficulties in reviewing and handling tax obligations of organizations and individuals.
Therefore, the requirement is to build a flexible, modern and synchronous coordination mechanism in terms of electronic information technology to improve the effectiveness of implementing the temporary exit suspension measure as an effective, accurate and deterrent legal tool in modern tax management.
The coordination regulations between the Tax Department and the Immigration Department, which were signed on May 12, are expected to promptly meet that requirement. This is a concrete step for legal, technical and responsibility coordination, in which data is not just numbers, but also a legal basis to ensure strict implementation of tax policies, protect the interests of the State and the legitimate rights of taxpayers in compliance.
Director of the Tax Department Mai Xuan Thanh affirmed that after the signing ceremony, the two agencies will promptly implement the content of the Coordination Regulation in exchanging and providing information on temporary exit suspension electronically.
Accordingly, focal units such as the Tax Operations Department, the Technology, Digital Transformation and Automation Department (Tax Department) continue to closely coordinate with the Immigration Department to ensure smooth electronic system connection, timely incident handling and information security in accordance with the law.
"In the coming time, the Tax Department will continue to coordinate with the State Treasury and the Commercial Banking system to transmit and receive tax payment information electronically, in order to shorten the time to confirm completion of tax obligations, promptly remove the temporary exit suspension order, and create favorable conditions for taxpayers," said the leader of the Tax sector.
