GD&TĐ - From a humble starting point, teachers and students of Nguyen Dong Chi High School have turned difficulties into motivation, creating achievements that make the land of learning proud.

The mark of a school named after a great cultural house

Established in 2002, the school was then named Nguyen Dong Chi Semi-Public High School, located in Ich Hau commune, Can Loc district. In 2008, the school converted to a public model and was officially named Nguyen Dong Chi High School - a great writer and cultural researcher of his hometown Ha Tinh . In 2015, the school moved to a new location in Phu Ich village, Dong Kinh commune (Ha Tinh) to continue its mission of cultivating knowledge.

The name Nguyen Dong Chi is not only a source of pride but also a reminder to every teacher and student about the tradition of studiousness, self-study and self-reliance of Ha Tinh people. It is also the motivation for the school's teaching staff to constantly strive for excellence in teaching and learning.

Currently, the school has 60 staff, teachers, employees and nearly 850 students. In 2023, the school was recognized as a national standard level 1, a quality education standard level 2, and is striving to achieve higher standards in the near future.

Although the input quality is still modest, thanks to the dedication of the teachers and the efforts of the students, the output quality of the school is constantly improving. For three consecutive years, 100% of students passed the graduation exam, many subjects have average scores higher than the average of the whole province such as Literature, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education.

Despite the modest entrance scores, the learning and training results of students at Nguyen Dong Chi High School are remarkable.

In the past 5 years, the school has had 2 students winning second prize in the national Geography competition, and more than 50 students winning provincial prizes in the fields of culture, sports, science and technology. In the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students winning excellent student prizes increased, with 13/23 students winning prizes, accounting for more than 50%.

The school is also a pioneer in the movement of innovating teaching methods, applying information technology, teaching STEM and integrating AI into lectures. These initiatives help students enjoy learning, promote self-study and creativity.

Steady steps on the journey of innovation

From the “Two Good” movement to “Building Happy Schools”, Nguyen Dong Chi always attaches importance to the human factor in education. The learning environment here is built in the direction of green – clean – beautiful – safe, promoting love, respect and sharing.

The school board cares about each student, always supporting teachers in their professional, personal and creative activities. Cultural activities such as reading, career guidance and practical experiences are organized regularly, creating a unique feature of a friendly, happy and positive-energy school.

The teaching staff of Nguyen Dong Chi High School always strives to be worthy of the school named after the great writer and cultural researcher in Ha Tinh.

Among the teaching staff, many teachers are shining examples. Ms. Phan Thi Thu Hang (Party Cell 1 Secretary, Head of Professional Group) has won the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level for many consecutive years, received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee, and is the head of the team with two students winning the second prize in the national Geography competition. Mr. Nguyen Doan Hoang, a Technology teacher, won the second prize in the Provincial Excellent Teacher competition for the 2024-2025 school year; Ms. Pham Thi Ha, a Technology teacher, won the second prize in the Provincial Excellent Teacher competition... are typical examples of innovation.

On the student side, Dang Thi Hanh, the “golden flower” of the school, won second prize in the national Geography competition for two consecutive years and was recognized as a three-good student at the central level. Hanh is a living testament to the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the desire to excel of the young generation of Nguyen Dong Chi.

In the period 2025-2030, Nguyen Dong Chi High School aims to achieve national standards level 2, education quality standards level 3; continue to improve comprehensive education quality, key quality and practical career guidance.

The school also hopes to receive attention and support from the education sector and local authorities, especially in terms of facilities and experimental equipment so that each lesson is truly a journey of creative experience.

Twenty-three years have passed, Nguyen Dong Chi High School still keeps the same fire of aspiration as in the beginning, the aspiration of those who sowed letters in their homeland, persistently cultivating green shoots of knowledge, so that from this school, many generations of students continue on the journey of building the future.
