Recently, Khaosod newspaper reported that a famous actress whose film earned more than 100 million baht ordered cyanide.
During the investigation into the cyanide poisoning case that has shocked Thailand, police discovered that suspect Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn had purchased drugs at a factory in the Lat Krabang area. Notably, the authorities later discovered that the name of a famous actress appeared on the purchase list. This actress was summoned for investigation on May 8.
According to MGR Online , after reading the news, the public mentioned the names of Baifern Pimchanok and Sai Intira Charoenpura. However, both actors affirmed that they were not involved in the incident. Baifern Pimchanok's manager said that they did not receive any information or request for a summons from the police.
On May 5, Khaosod and a series of Thai media reported that Ice Preechaya Pongthananikorn admitted that she was the actress mentioned. She ordered cyanide on April 25 and received it on April 27. The actress explained that she bought the highly toxic substance to repel snakes and other reptiles.
Ice Preechaya Pongthananikorn was summoned on May 8.
Due to the landslide, reptiles attacked their pets. Her family tried to find a solution but it was ineffective. Appearing on the Nod Krasae program on May 5, Ice Preechaya burst into tears when talking about the incident. She admitted that she made a mistake and did not know that buying cyanide was dangerous and illegal. The actress affirmed that she accepted all punishments for her mistake.
Khaosod said under the 1992 Toxic Substances Act, anyone who illegally manufactures, imports, exports or possesses a Class 3 toxic substance such as cyanide will be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years. Other penalties include a fine not exceeding 200,000 baht or both.
Ice Preechaya was born in 1990, is a Thai model and actress. She became famous after playing the main role in two movies ATM: Er Rak Error (2012) and I Fine Thank You Love You (2014). Of which, up to the time of its release, ATM: Er Rak Error became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time in Thailand. The project won the award for Highest-grossing Movie at the Bangkok Critic's Assembly in 2013.
