Vietnam women's team lost 1-4 to Bundesliga representative

(NLDO) - Against the team that just finished the 2024-2025 season with 7th place in the Bundesliga, the Vietnamese women's team lost 1-4 at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi) on the evening of May 16.

Facing the Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen, the Vietnamese women's team did not show much, the forward line was almost separated from the other lines. Partly due to the defensive counter-attacking style of play, Hai Yen, who was in the highest position in the team, was almost starved of the ball in the first half.

After the break, the Vietnamese women's team played better. However, in the 50th minute, Kim Thanh had to pick the ball out of the net for the second time when Weidauer's powerful right-footed shot bounced off but Larissa Muhlhaus immediately scored the rebound.

Vietnam women's team had difficulty launching attacks in the first half.

It was not until the 63rd minute that Ngoc Minh Chuyen, a young player who came off the bench in the first half of the second half, had a chance to tear the net open. The striker born in 2004 with his speed and youthfulness had a chance to break free and shoot diagonally to shorten the gap to 1-2.

Before that, in the 57th minute, Hai Yen unfortunately missed when she sent the ball into the sky even though it was less than 2 meters from the opponent's goal.

Minh Chuyen (25) scored the only goal for the Vietnamese team in the defeat against the German representative.

Closing the match, Minh Chuyen's goal helped coach Mai Duc Chung and his team get a consolation point. The German representative closed the match with 2 more goals in the 81st and 94th minutes when Muhlhaus completed his double, Emoke Papai sealed the victory.

In this half, coach Mai Duc Chung also made many personnel adjustments with some young players such as Minh Cuyen, Vu Thi Hoa, etc. entering the field. Notably, goalkeeper number 1 Kim Thanh was also withdrawn and replaced by Khong Thi Hang in the middle of the second half.
