Sprint to upgrade National Highway 4B

Contractor organizes construction to complete the roadbed section through Loc Binh commune

From mid-May 2025 to the end of October 2025, there were 90 rainy days in the area of the project to upgrade the section Km18 - Km80 of National Highway 4B in the communes of the old Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts. The heavy rain has greatly affected the construction plan, however, the contractors have implemented many solutions to maintain production at the construction site.

The project to upgrade the section Km18 - Km80 of National Highway 4B is divided into 2 construction packages, of which package 7 is constructed from Km18 to Km43; package 8 is constructed from Km43 to Km80.

In package No. 7, the construction work of contractors in mid-November 2025 took place very urgently with the spirit of "3 shifts and 4 crews". Xuan Quang Construction Joint Stock Company is the contractor with the largest volume with 3 bridge locations on the route and road construction with a length of more than 14 km, of which 10 km is newly opened.

Mr. Luc Van Hong, construction site commander of the project under construction package No. 7, Xuan Quang Construction Joint Stock Company informed: According to the contract, the items undertaken by the unit must be completed and put into operation in December 2025. Therefore, the unit has regularly monitored the weather situation to have a plan to mobilize vehicles and machines to organize production accordingly. For days with favorable weather, the units organize construction in "3 shifts and 4 shifts" and deploy night shifts to make up for progress with the spirit of "if the day is not enough, take advantage of the night work". The company's goal is to complete the entire route section undertaken by the unit before December 15, 2025.

According to the supervision report of the supervision consultant contractor, in package No. 7, the contractors mobilized 147 vehicles, machines and 296 personnel, and organized 16 construction teams on the route. As a result, by the end of November 10, 2025, the units had completed the construction of 3 bridges, crushed stone aggregate construction for 22/26.38 km of roadbed, and asphalt concrete paving for 8.5/26.38 km. The implementation value of package No. 7 reached 512/827 billion VND.

For package No. 8, by November 10, 2025, the units have completed 35.2/36.7 km of crushed stone roadbed, 34.4/36.7 km of asphalt concrete pavement and completed the construction of the traffic safety system on the asphalt concrete sections.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong, Director of My Son Construction Joint Stock Company, the unit in charge of construction with a length of 7 km in Dinh Lap commune, said: Up to now, the section of the route undertaken by the unit has completed 100% of the asphalt concrete pavement volume, is installing guardrails and painting road markings. The unit's goal is to complete the entire assigned section by November 2025.

As of November 10, 2025, contractors have paved 42.9/63.08 km of the entire project, completing all 14 bridge locations on the route. The project has disbursed VND 1,800/2,296 billion, equivalent to 78.3% of the allocated capital plan.

Mr. Hoang Viet Dong, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction - the project investor, said: Currently, contractors are doing their best to speed up construction of items, determined to complete the entire project by the end of December 2025. Every 2 days, the department's leaders inspect the actual site and check the contractors' organization of evening construction.

Currently entering the dry season, with favorable weather conditions, contractors are focusing all resources to complete the unfinished work. We believe that with the close supervision of the investor and the supervising consultant, by the end of December 2025, the entire project will be completed according to the set plan.
