As the night falls, hundreds of locals and tourists flock to Ky Ninh beach (Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh ) eagerly waiting for the fishermen's squid fishing boats to return.

After settling down at sea, hundreds of lights from the squid fishing boats flashed like a city on the sea.

Around 10-12pm, squid fishing boats in Ky Ninh commune, Ha Tinh province dock. On the shore, women and mothers are waiting to welcome the fruits of their labor from the men in their families.

There are no tables or chairs, no electric lights, the only thing here is fresh squid, the spotlight is mounted above the seller's head to both illuminate the way for customers to choose squid and create an effect to make the squid sparkle more.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue (Tien Thang village, Ky Ninh commune, Ha Tinh) said: "The squid fishing season for local people is from April to August every year. This is the season so people often fish with nets and direct fishing. The fishing area is only about 5km from the coast.

With squid prices ranging from 150,000 to 350,000 VND/kg, in favorable weather conditions, our boat can earn an average of 3-5 million VND per night."

The flickering lights in the dark night along with the sounds of laughter and bargaining make the area buzz, creating a rather interesting feature when coming to the fresh squid "market" in Ky Ninh.

Although the squid boat arrived very late, many people still tried to wait to buy trays of fresh squid...

...and enjoy the fun atmosphere at the market.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh Huyen (Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district) said: "For several consecutive days, my family went to Ky Ninh beach to wait for the boat to buy squid. Although the boat arrived quite late, I enjoyed buying fresh seafood and joining in the happy atmosphere with everyone...".

Coming here to buy squid, many young people also bring spices to enjoy fresh squid right on the beach.

After Ky Ninh sea square was put into operation, this place became an ideal place for people to come to have fun, swim and buy seafood. Recently, it is the right time for squid season, so at night and early morning, many people go to the sea to buy seafood from fishermen who have just caught it. Squid output from April until now in the commune has reached more than 50 tons, bringing a good income for local fishermen...
