The Prime Minister has just issued a decision appointing Mr. Hoang Trung, Director of the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. This decision takes effect from June 2nd.

Mr. Hoang Trung has held the position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development since June 2nd.

Previously, the Prime Minister also issued a decision appointing Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Director General of the General Department of Forestry (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. According to the assignment of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri is in charge of forestry, forest protection, and several other areas of the agricultural sector.

Thus, currently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has five deputy ministers: Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, and Mr. Hoang Trung. The minister is Mr. Le Minh Hoan.

Mr. Hoang Trung, born in 1969, hails from Hoang Thang commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province. He joined the Party on February 3, 1999. His previous position before appointment was: Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Plant Protection Department, and Director of the Plant Protection Department. His professional qualifications include a PhD. His political theory qualifications are at the advanced level.
