Mr. Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council and Mr. Do Minh Tuan, Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee were allowed to retire early by the Central Committee from September 12.

At the 33rd session of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council on the afternoon of September 17, Mr. Le Tien Lam, Standing Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council (who is currently assigned to manage the activities of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council) informed about the cases of Mr. Lai The Nguyen, former Standing Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thanh Hoa Province and Mr. Do Minh Tuan, former Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

On the afternoon of September 17, the People's Council of Thanh Hoa province elected Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province for the 2021-2026 term, replacing Mr. Do Minh Tuan.

According to Mr. Lam, the Central Committee has allowed Mr. Lai The Nguyen and Mr. Do Minh Tuan to retire early, starting from September 12.

Regarding the reason why the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council did not carry out the dismissal procedure for the positions elected by the People's Council, Mr. Lam said that after the Central Committee allowed Mr. Nguyen and Mr. Tuan to retire before the age, the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council applied Clause 6, Article 37 of the Law on Organization of Local Government (passed by the National Assembly on June 16) to report to the Provincial People's Council without having to carry out the dismissal procedure.

After Mr. Lai The Nguyen and Mr. Do Minh Tuan were allowed to retire early, the Politburo and the Secretariat decided to transfer, assign and appoint Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.

Mobilize and assign Major General Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of the Department of Internal Security (Ministry of Public Security), to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and appoint him to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

At the 33rd session held on the afternoon of September 17, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, was elected by the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, replacing Mr. Do Minh Tuan.
