On November 14th (local time), US President-elect Donald Trump delivered his first public speech since winning the 2024 election.
"We're going to solve the Middle East problem and we're going to work hard in Russia and Ukraine. It has to stop. Russia and Ukraine have to stop," Trump declared at a gala hosted by the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
He also criticized Washington's "massive spending" on Afghanistan, where U.S. troops withdrew in 2021 after two decades of fighting the Taliban, who returned to power that same year.

The 47th President-elect of the United States also pledged to build a "powerful military." He said: "We must bring the country back to its great days with low taxes and a strong military. We will improve the military; we have done it before, and now we will have to do it again."
The fact that Donald Trump, who campaigned on an "America First" platform, is preparing to return to the White House on January 20, 2025, raises questions about Washington's billions of dollars in support for Kyiv, which is crucial to the country's defense.
Trump has repeatedly opposed U.S. military aid to Ukraine. He once declared he would end the Russia-Ukraine conflict "in 24 hours," but did not specify a timeframe for implementing the plan.
President-elect Trump has nominated Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and veteran, to be the US Secretary of Defense.
If confirmed by the Senate, Hegseth would command approximately 3.4 million soldiers and civilian employees, overseeing an annual budget of around $850 billion.
Trump also tasked Elon Musk, the world's richest man, with proposing a $2 trillion cut from the federal government's $7 trillion budget.
