Impressive Obstacle Course of the Road to Olympia 2024 Champion

On the morning of October 13, contestant Vo Quang Phu Duc (student of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue) won the championship of the Road to Olympia 2024 contest after a thrilling final match with 3 opponents from Phu Yen , Gia Lai and Hanoi.

In addition to the prestigious 18K gold-plated laurel wreath, the Hue male student also received a prize worth 50,000 USD and the opportunity to study abroad. The second and third place contestants received prizes worth 200 and 100 million VND, respectively.

Competing with Phu Duc in the final round broadcast at 4 locations were 3 other "climbers" including Tran Trung Kien (student of Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen), Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (student of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai) and Nguyen Nguyen Phu (student of Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted).

This is the 24th year of the knowledge contest on VTV3 “Road to Olympia” and also the third time the championship has returned to Hue, after 2009 and 2016.

Phu Duc won a total of 220 points, including the maximum 60 points in the warm-up round. In the following rounds, Phu Duc also continuously led.

Entering the Finish Line round, the final round, Phu Duc was the first contestant to step up and choose the 60-point question package.

In the first question, Duc correctly answered the names of Vietnam's four Gepard missile ships: Dinh Tien Hoang, Ly Thai To, Quang Trung, Tran Hung Dao and won 20 points. In the second question, Duc answered incorrectly.

In the third question, Duc did not choose the star of hope and continued to answer incorrectly about the name of a tree in a poem by poet Tran Dang Khoa in Truong Sa. Nguyen Phu rang the bell to answer correctly about “the wind and storm tree” and won 20 points. At the end of this round, Phu Duc had 235 points, and although 15 points were deducted for an incorrect answer in Nhat Minh’s round, the male student from Hue still won the championship with 220 points./.
