Entering the period of innovation and integration, the Program continues to innovate, bringing the Voice of Vietnam to resonate far and wide, becoming an official, professional and reliable information channel on military and national defense on the waves of the National Radio. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the first broadcast of the People's Army Radio Program (March 16, 1959 - March 16, 2024).
With the explosive development of the Internet, now, with just a phone or computer with Internet connection, listeners can listen to Voice of Vietnam Radio Programs anytime, anywhere. Accordingly, the People's Army Radio Program is also known to more listeners, listened to more, through online radio listening software applications.
Along with that, the Editorial Board of the People's Army Radio Program has taken advantage of social networks to spread the broadcast programs. Thus, instead of only listening to the Program in a fixed time frame, listeners can listen to the Program's articles, reports, and interviews on social networking platforms. In particular, after being broadcast, the Program's articles and reports are shared on the zalo group "Canh song am vang", nearly 1,000 members in the group continue to share and spread, thanks to which units throughout the army can listen to the People's Army Radio Program again, through the internal broadcasting system. Because of that, the Army Radio Program has reached more officers and soldiers.
For Lieutenant Colonel Dao Van Hao, Political Commissar of the Military Command of Ha Giang City, Army radio programs are also a useful information channel for learning, serving the process of performing tasks at the unit: "I also regularly listen to the People's Army Radio Program, many broadcast contents have been updated and shared on the zalo group "Echoing Waves". We find it very convenient, we can download them so that the troops can listen to more. Regularly following the Program, I see that the Program has also had many innovations. In which there are many interviews with experts and scientists of very good quality. And through that, we have more knowledge documents to study and apply to effectively carry out party work and political work activities in the unit."
Senior Lieutenant Pham Duy Hai, Assistant to the Propaganda Department of Division 316, said: "For example, in our Division 316, the contents in the "Truth - Discussion" section are broadcast on the People's Army Radio Program, we can listen to them again and learn. In addition, we rebroadcast them on the internal radio websites of the division, in the afternoons, on holidays, and during breaks so that soldiers can listen to them more. And the contents posted on social networking platforms, we also share and spread on the Division's group pages so that officers and soldiers in the division can listen and learn."
Currently, the press is in the trend of digital transformation. The requirements for modern journalism need to change and adjust to suit the tastes of the public. Accordingly, the People's Army Radio also continuously innovates in the production of news, articles, reports, interviews and special programs and talks. Radio reports use sound more often. Through this, listeners seem to be witnessing the event with their own eyes and on the spot.
Colonel Vu Thi Hong Linh, Deputy Head of the Radio News Department, Military Radio and Television Center, said: "One of the breakthroughs of the People's Army Radio is to have on-site noise in the report. That is, instead of describing the sounds in the unit such as the sound of a motorbike engine, the footsteps of soldiers, and the commander's command, the writer records those noises at the scene and uses them in the article. This makes the report truly a report of the spoken press type. And it makes the works more vivid and attractive. And the microphone of the radio reporter has become the camera of the television reporter. However, we still want on-site noises to be used more frequently, more in the whole work, not just in 1-2 segments. That is, when using noises, the author must choose the most characteristic noise for the detail that the writer uses in the report."
Using scene sounds and live scene narration is also something that Lieutenant Colonel Tran Le Thanh Tuan, Editor of the Radio Specialty Department and reporters of the Military Radio Program always pay attention to during their work: "Recently, when we go on assignment, we also pay great attention to using scene sounds in our articles. In particular, we also pay great attention to on-site scene narration. We not only apply this in normal reports but also in the special topics we do. In addition, based on the circumstances of the event, we also add musical notes or songs to suit the circumstances."
In the current trend of huge information flow, the Military Radio Program has also expanded the range of content reflected. Social issues, issues of public concern, major issues and events of the country are approached from a military and defense perspective. Therefore, the renewed content, with diverse ways of expression, has brought a new look to the 30 minutes of broadcasting of the Program.
As both a regular listener of the Program and as a leader of the Voice of Vietnam, Deputy General Director of the Voice of Vietnam Pham Manh Hung noted: "In recent years, the People's Army Radio has also made many innovations, not only in reports but also in Talks, discussion programs, interviews, and reports to help us clarify our views on Vietnam's defense strategy. Making the public not only understand that, but also making international partners and the world public understand Vietnam's defense policy for peace. We do it with creativity, we express it in many forms, those rich and diverse genres, making it easier for the public to access. Those are the innovative efforts of the People's Army Radio colleagues, which we, the leaders of the station, see very clearly, acknowledge, and appreciate. And listening to the Army Radio programs on the Voice of Vietnam radio is not out of step with the general innovation trend in broadcasting. Voice of Vietnam radio. These are very positive signals."
With its active and proactive innovation, the People's Army Radio Program has become more integrated into the information flow, becoming an organic part of the Voice of Vietnam. It has spread the Voice of Vietnam far and wide, becoming an official and reliable information channel on military and national defense, and an indispensable spiritual food for many listeners and the public today.
