From June 11-12, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Trung Kien led a delegation of the Committee to carry out support and community mobilization work in the Kansai region, Japan.
Attending the meeting were representatives of the community and a number of Vietnamese organizations and associations in the Kansai region, including the Kansai Vietnamese Association, the Vietnam - Japan Trade Association, the Vietnam - Japan Economic Promotion Association, the Kansai Cultural and Sports Exchange Association, and the Global Vietnam - Japan Cultural Promotion Organization.
Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha said that there are currently about 130,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in the Kansai region, including Osaka, Shiga, Kyoto, Nara, Wakayama and Hyogo provinces. The community is mainly interns, international students, workers... young, dynamic and united, oriented towards the country.
Chairwoman of the Kansai Vietnamese Association, Ms. Le Thi Thuong, was moved and grateful when recalling Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's words: "Even if there is only one Vietnamese person abroad, the Party and State care for them" and affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Japan always accompanies the cause of protecting and developing the country, developing the movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese, promoting traditional culture and looking towards the homeland.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Committee Nguyen Trung Kien informed the people about the country's socio-economic development situation, outstanding achievements in foreign affairs, and a number of updated legal policies related to overseas Vietnamese.
The Chairman of the Committee encouraged and encouraged people to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, obeying the law, integrating well and making positive contributions to the local society, enhancing the good image and position of the community, as well as contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchange and friendly cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation visited, presented gifts and nearly 400 Vietnamese language teaching and learning books, books on history, culture, Vietnamese comics... to teachers and students of Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School - Branch No. 2.
The delegation listened to and noted the opinions and suggestions of the people and affirmed that in the coming time, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will continue to closely coordinate with the Consulate General in Osaka to accompany and support the community in association activities, develop Vietnamese language teaching and learning..., thereby increasingly meeting the legitimate wishes and aspirations of the people./.
