Developing culture, sports and tourism commensurate with the province's potential and advantages

On the afternoon of October 27, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, worked with the Party Committee and leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) of Dak Lak to evaluate the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 9 months of the year and deploy key directions and tasks for the last months of 2025.

Reporting at the meeting, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak Tran Hong Tien said: The Department has 7 specialized and professional departments and 10 public service units with 604 assigned positions. In the first 9 months of the year, all aspects of work have achieved the planned progress. The Department has advised on the successful organization of cultural, sports and tourism events in the province; coordinated with departments and branches to organize activities inside and outside the province with high results.

The Department has established a heritage profile of “Knowledge of growing and processing coffee in Dak Lak province”, which has been listed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage; proposed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to submit to the Government to include the heritage “Knowledge of growing and processing coffee in Dak Lak” in the list of nominations to UNESCO for recognition as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Cultural, sports and tourism activities have taken place vigorously.

Total tourism revenue of the whole province reached 11,465 billion VND, an increase of 81.43% over the same period in 2024; welcomed 6.135 million visitors (an increase of 42.41%), of which 82,294 were international visitors (an increase of 90.06%). The Department has proposed plans to amend, supplement and simplify, and reduce the time for 29 administrative procedures in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, creating convenience for people and businesses. Communication work has been enhanced in conjunction with promoting the image of Dak Lak through festivals, programs, etc.

Speaking at the working session, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak in recent times, inheriting and promoting the effective achievements in culture, sports and tourism of the two provinces of Dak Lak and Phu Yen before the merger.

The Provincial Party Secretary suggested that the Party Committee and leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism need to focus on solutions to promote investment so that culture, sports and tourism can develop to their full potential, effectively exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality.

Along with that, continue to build a clean and strong Party organization; improve the quality of Party cell activities; pay attention to building a team of cadres; strengthen decentralization and authorization to the grassroots; promote digital transformation associated with administrative procedure reform; focus on press management; coordinate in press communication activities.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak needs to promote communication and promote the image of Dak Lak province on digital platforms; advise on announcing the new logo of Dak Lak province on January 1, 2026; develop a project to preserve and promote intangible cultural heritage; improve the efficiency of sports institutions in the area; develop tourism into a key economic sector, strive to build the best community tourism village in the world...
