Criticizing a series of construction departments for disbursing capital for national highway maintenance too slowly

The Vietnam Road Administration has just reminded and criticized 21 construction departments for their slow progress in disbursing capital for national highway maintenance in 2025 and failing to report progress.

In which, the lowest are the provinces of Hung Yen, Dak Lak, Da Nang , Tuyen Quang, Dong Nai, only reaching under 20%.

The provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh , Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Tay Ninh, and Vinh Long only reached 20-30%.

The provinces of Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Gia Lai, An Giang , and Can Tho also have low disbursement numbers compared to the plan and slow reporting.

Localities are mainly delayed in the following stages: creating construction drawing designs; implementing construction package bidding; updating data on disbursement software.

The Vietnam Road Administration has criticized units that disburse funds slowly and units that do not report implementation results. To speed up the progress, the Administration requires investors and project management boards to resolutely direct and find solutions to overcome difficulties to speed up the disbursement progress; urgently review and report on the remaining unused funds that have not been fully disbursed in 2025.

According to information from the Ministry of Construction, in 2025, the Vietnam Road Administration will be assigned more than 12,000 billion VND in road maintenance capital to organize the management and maintenance of more than 26,000km of national highways and expressways.
