Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh presented a souvenir to Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the reception, Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada said that during her term in Vietnam, the Cuban Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City has always strived to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between localities of the two countries; in which, Hue is one of the localities with great potential and has taken remarkable proactive steps in strengthening connections with Cuban organizations and provinces. She highly appreciated the cooperation results that have been formed in the fields of health, education , cultural exchange and people-to-people exchange; at the same time, she acknowledged the interest and goodwill of Hue City in expanding relations with Cuba through practical and effective activities.

Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada emphasized that the relationship between Hue and Cuban localities still has a lot of room for development, especially in the context of the two countries moving towards the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations. She expressed her hope that Hue could move towards establishing a sister city with a Cuban locality, thereby creating a sustainable foundation for deeper cooperation in areas such as health, tourism, cultural exchange, heritage preservation and sharing of human resource training experiences.

Although her term of office has ended, she affirmed that she will always accompany and "continue to be an ambassador of Vietnam - Cuba friendship", contributing to connecting Cuban organizations and localities with Hue City and other provinces and cities of Vietnam.

At the same time, he affirmed that the Consul General has performed well as a responsible and effective bridge, contributing to deepening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, a relationship "tempered by loyal and steadfast feelings and sharing through many generations.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that Hue always attaches importance to and promotes people-to-people diplomacy activities, expands exchanges, and enhances mutual understanding between Hue people and international friends; in which Cuba is always a partner with a special position. The city will continue to create conditions to develop cooperation programs with Cuba, making practical contributions to strengthening friendly relations and opening up new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between Hue and Cuban localities.

Expressing his trust and expectation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh hoped that even after her term in Vietnam ends, Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada will continue to be a reliable bridge, contributing to further promoting the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam, as well as between Cuba and Hue City.
