This summer-autumn crop, the whole province sowed an estimated area of over 22,700 hectares, reaching 101.8% of the plan, an increase of nearly 200 hectares compared to the 2023 summer-autumn crop. Of which, the area of large-field production linkage and product consumption reached over 1,400 hectares, the area of drone application to spray pesticides, fertilizers, and biological products reached nearly 5,000 hectares, bringing the area of drone application to date to over 10,000 hectares.
As of August 6, more than 21,000 hectares of rice have flowered and are fully grown, reaching nearly 95% of the planting plan. The remaining rice area that has not yet flowered is about 1,500 hectares, mainly concentrated in Cam Lo district with 700 hectares, Huong Hoa with 500 hectares, Dakrong with 200 hectares, and Dong Ha city with 100 hectares...
Currently, the low-lying communes of Hai Lang district have entered the harvest. By August 6, the harvested rice area was nearly 2,000 hectares, reaching nearly 30% of the district's total area, concentrated in the communes of Hai Duong , Hai Dinh, Hai Que, and Hai Truong. It is expected that by August 20, the entire district will basically be harvested. This year's summer-autumn crop in Hai Lang district continues to be a good harvest and good price. The average dry rice yield is estimated at 65 quintals/ha, with high places reaching 70 quintals/ha. The price of fresh rice at the beginning of the season is from 7,000 - 7,500 VND/kg, the price of dry rice is up to 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, so farmers are very happy.

After the inspection, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ha Sy Dong, requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue to closely coordinate with localities to direct and guide farmers to quickly harvest the ripe summer-autumn rice fields to limit losses caused by natural disasters with the motto "green at home is better than ripe in the fields".
Direct specialized units to strengthen inspection of pests and diseases on crops, especially late-season rice, to promptly guide the prevention of harmful pests and diseases. Evaluate some new rice varieties tested in the summer-autumn crop this year as a basis for supplementing the province's rice variety structure. Promote autumn-winter crop production in areas with less flooding to increase income per unit area. Strengthen connections and attract businesses to link production and purchase agricultural products according to sustainable value chains.
