For 3 days (May 24-26) at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul (South Korea), the Seoul Friendship Festival 2024 will take place, with the participation of diplomatic representatives and people from over 70 countries living, working and studying in Korea.
According to a VNA correspondent in Korea, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced the “Seoul Friendship Festival 2024” as a global event honoring diverse cultures from around the world with the theme “Seoul and the World through Culture”.
At the festival, visitors can experience and enjoy traditional dishes, desserts, cultural performances, tourist information, films and many other cultural activities from more than 70 countries around the world. This is the festival with the largest number of participating countries since the COVID-19 pandemic.
In particular, at this year's event, along the Cheonggye Stream area, the Organizing Committee has prepared many booths introducing traditional dishes from 46 countries and a K-food area with traditional Korean dishes, where visitors can come to taste the flavors of cuisines around the world.
The Vietnamese food stall introduces dishes that are already familiar to Koreans such as beef noodle soup and fried spring rolls. In particular, beef noodle soup has a balanced flavor between the richness of beef, the aroma of rice noodles combined with the salty, sweet and light elements of spices, the sourness and freshness of fresh lemon, contributing to stimulating the sense of smell and taste of diners.
The sophistication and richness of Vietnamese cuisine requires the chef to have appropriate coordination techniques and skillful combinations of main ingredients to successfully execute. The delicious flavors of Pho Bo and Nem Ran have impressed many Korean and international diners. The dishes are prepared and processed by the staff of Vietnamese representative agencies in Korea.
The Seoul Friendship Festival is an annual cultural event that has been held since 1996. Seoul city officials said they will strive to make the Seoul Friendship Festival a place for people to experience and enjoy the charms of the world right in Seoul; at the same time, it will also be a playground for foreign citizens living in Korea to share and promote their country's culture.
