Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son meets with Deputy Prime Minister of Oman

Within the framework of the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits, on May 27, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son met with Oman Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Asaad Bin Tariq Al Said.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated Oman on the important achievements that the country has made in recent times in many fields, affirming that this is an important foundation for Oman to successfully implement the national goal of "Oman Vision 2040".

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his delight at the positive developments in the Vietnam-Oman relationship in recent times, especially in economic and investment cooperation, in which the Vietnam-Oman Joint Investment Fund (VOI) continues to operate effectively, becoming a bright spot for bilateral cooperation and a typical model for joint investment cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the Middle East. Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed Oman's decision to expand investment in Vietnam through cooperation with the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) to establish the New Era Growth Investment Fund, affirming that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Omani businesses and investors to operate effectively; suggested that the two sides expand investment cooperation to the fields of digital transformation, energy, Halal industry, etc.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the two sides need to continue to increase delegation exchanges at all levels, especially at high levels, thereby consolidating political trust and creating a solid foundation to promote bilateral cooperation in all aspects. On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son invited the Deputy Prime Minister of Oman to visit Vietnam in the near future.

Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Asaad Bin Tariq Al Said highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements in economic development and diversification, affirming that the Government of Oman attaches importance to strengthening relations with Vietnam. Agreeing with the opinions of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, the Deputy Prime Minister of Oman affirmed that he will direct relevant agencies and encourage Omani enterprises to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all fields.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers agreed to soon organize bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Intergovernmental Committee and Political Consultation to review and promote bilateral relations, promote the opening of representative offices and the appointment of honorary consuls in each country, study the opening of direct flights and negotiate agreements to facilitate visas for citizens of the two countries to promote tourism cooperation, and continue to develop the Vietnam-Oman relationship strongly and comprehensively in the coming time.
