At the reception, the Deputy Prime Minister briefly reported on some features of Vietnam's socio -economic development in recent years, associated with innovation in development thinking, the core content of which is the determination to innovate and comprehensively reform, coupled with proactive and active international integration.

“Over the past 20 years, Vietnam’s economic growth rate has been the second highest in the world (nearly 7% per year). But what international organizations appreciate is that most of Vietnam’s growth achievements have been dedicated to the poor and remote areas,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Discussing a number of issues of interest to the delegation of journalists, the Deputy Prime Minister said that in the coming time, Vietnam will focus on strong innovation, creating a favorable investment and business environment for all enterprises and investors; building an infrastructure system, protecting the environment; continuing to innovate education activities, training human resources according to world trends and standards.

Affirming that the Vietnamese economy is an inseparable part of the world economy, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening economic cooperation with all countries and partners; there is no distinction between domestic and foreign economic sectors.

The success of the APEC Year and the APEC Summit Week recently held in Vietnam shows that the trend of increasing connectivity, integration and free trade among economies is irreversible. Vietnam has been actively participating and contributing to the activities of international forums and organizations, contributing to enhancing the country's position and consolidating a favorable international environment for socio-economic development.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam's desire is to build a peaceful and stable country; develop a sustainable economy; and allow people to live in a peaceful, happy and optimistic society.

Thanking the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to meet him, Mr. Jean Musy said that APES was founded in 1928 by journalists from many countries working at media agencies headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. These journalists mainly reflect the most updated information from Switzerland, the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva.

During the working visit to Vietnam, the delegation of the Foreign Press Association in Switzerland and Liechtenstein had a working session with the Vietnam Journalists Association. The two sides pledged to be an active bridge to encourage the Journalists Associations and press agencies that are their member organizations to enhance cooperation in exchanging press delegations, supporting each other, contributing to the common progress in information exchange.

Mr. Mussy hopes that through the visit, the members of the delegation will have the opportunity to learn more information and write articles about Vietnam's potential for cooperation and investment to foreign enterprises and investors. As well as the image of a renewed, integrated Vietnam, imbued with cultural identity and rich in hospitality.
