(QNO) - On May 26, the People's Committee of Phu Ninh district organized a campaign to encourage the whole population to practice swimming and prevent drowning in 2023.

Phu Ninh District People's Committee calls on agencies, departments, branches, People's Committees of communes and towns to strengthen direction and implementation of work to prevent injuries and drowning for children, students and people.

At the same time, organize and launch a movement for the whole population to learn swimming and skills to prevent drowning accidents in localities, linking this content with the organization of "Action Month for Children" from June 1 to June 30, and summer activities of local students.

Mobilize organizations and individuals to invest in building swimming pools in communes, towns, and schools, and mobilize units and individuals with facilities and swimming pools to prioritize, exempt, or reduce swimming pool rental fees and tuition fees for children, to create conditions for children and students to learn and practice swimming.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Danh - Vice Chairman of Phu Ninh District People's Committee called on every family, school and every student and child to actively respond to the swimming practice movement, prevent drowning, and promote the movement for everyone to participate.

After the launching ceremony, the swimming competition for junior high and high school students in the 2022-2023 school year was organized by the People's Committee of Phu Ninh district at the swimming pool of the district's Information and Communications Center with distances of 50m for men and 50m for women for freestyle at 2 levels.
