Phuoc Thang Ward (HCMC): Completed handling of 120 illegal construction works

On the morning of September 9, the People's Committee of Phuoc Thang Ward (HCMC) organized an interdisciplinary force to enforce the demolition of the last illegal construction project out of a total of 120 projects violating construction order in the area.

The construction being forcibly demolished belongs to Mr. NVT in the Hang Dieu area. Previously, Mr. T. had submitted a request to self-demolish it before September 8 but did not fulfill his commitment.

Previously, during the general inspection, Phuoc Thang ward discovered 120 cases of construction order violations. In a short time, the locality has completely handled 106 cases. For the 14 cases of forced demolition, 9 constructions requested to self-demolish and have been completed.

Notably, there were two cases where the project owner filed a lawsuit against the enforcement decision of the ward People's Committee to a competent court. After receiving the lawsuit file, the court issued a document applying temporary emergency measures, requesting a temporary suspension of enforcement pending resolution according to procedural order.

On August 20, the Ward People's Committee enforced the demolition of 3 violating constructions and sent a complaint to the People's Court of Region 11 (HCMC). After consideration, the court issued a decision to cancel the application of emergency measures to 2 constructions.
