Phuoc Thang Ward (HCMC): Completed handling of 120 illegal construction works

On the morning of September 9, the People's Committee of Phuoc Thang Ward (HCMC) organized an inter-sectoral force to enforce the demolition of the last illegal construction project out of a total of 120 projects violating construction order in the area.

The construction being forcibly demolished belongs to Mr. NVT in the Hang Dieu area. Previously, Mr. T. had submitted a request to voluntarily demolish it before September 8 but did not fulfill his commitment.

Previously, during the general inspection, Phuoc Thang ward discovered 120 cases of construction order violations. In a short time, the locality has completely handled 106 cases. For the 14 cases of forced demolition, 9 constructions requested to self-demolish and have been completed.

Notably, there were two cases where the project owner filed a lawsuit against the enforcement decision of the ward People's Committee to a competent court. After receiving the lawsuit file, the court issued a document applying temporary emergency measures, requesting a temporary suspension of enforcement pending resolution according to procedural order.

On August 20, the Ward People's Committee enforced the demolition of 3 violating constructions and sent a complaint to the People's Court of Region 11 (HCMC). After consideration, the court issued a decision to cancel the application of emergency measures to 2 constructions.
