Pu Nhung cooperates in growing pineapples and developing to reduce poverty

The pineapple growing model linking Doveco Son La and Pu Nhung farmers in Dien Bien province opens up the direction for the development of commodity agriculture, creates jobs, and contributes to sustainable poverty reduction.

At Rang Dong village, Pu Nhung commune ( Dien Bien province), Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company (Doveco) - Son La Branch coordinated with Pu Nhung Commune People's Committee to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the pineapple planting project, developing sustainable raw material areas.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of Doveco Son La Company, representatives of Pu Nhung commune government, Regional Agricultural Service Center 3, Rang Dong Cooperative and many people participating in the project.

Based on the signed agreement, Doveco Son La implemented a model of pineapple cultivation in Rang Dong village with a trial area, without changing the land use purpose, with households voluntarily contributing land use rights or leasing through the Farmers' Cooperative Group. The entire process is carried out under a production and consumption linkage contract, ensuring compliance with land law regulations.

The model is organized in a chain of links between enterprises, cooperatives and people, not forming investment projects using land but implementing them in the form of agricultural production cooperation. This model is in accordance with Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP of the Government on policies to encourage the development of cooperation and linkage in the production and consumption of agricultural products, contributing to enhancing sustainability in agricultural production.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Luong Trung Hieu, Director of Doveco Son La Branch, said: In 2025, the Company aims to develop the pineapple growing area in Pu Nhung commune, aiming to build a stable and sustainable agricultural value chain. Doveco will coordinate with local authorities and farmers in all stages from providing seeds, materials, technical guidance, care to harvesting, ensuring a safe and quality production process. In particular, the Company commits to purchasing all post-harvest products at stable prices according to the linkage contract, helping people feel secure in production and minimizing market risks.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bach, Chairman of Pu Nhung Commune People's Committee, affirmed: The pineapple growing linkage model between enterprises and farmers is the right direction, in line with the Party and State's policy of developing commodity agriculture and sustainable rural economy. The Commune People's Committee will create favorable conditions for enterprises to implement, and at the same time, mobilize people to actively participate in the model, complying with the technical process guided by the Company.

From the implementation of this model, Pu Nhung commune hopes to form a large-scale concentrated pineapple growing area, gradually making pineapple a key crop in local economic development. The model not only creates stable jobs, increases income for people but also contributes to effectively implementing the goals of sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction.

At the end of the ceremony, the leaders of Doveco Son La Company, local authorities and people planted the first pineapple trees at the model area. The activity marked the beginning of a close cooperation between businesses and farmers, demonstrating the determination to jointly develop sustainable raw material areas, making pineapple a typical product of Pu Nhung commune, Dien Bien province.
