On November 5, at Nha Trang University (Khanh Hoa), the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Innovation (VIFOTEC) to organize the opening ceremony of the final round of the Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions in 2025.

The award is held annually to honor outstanding achievements, encourage students to actively participate in scientific research, contribute to improving the quality of training and discovering and nurturing young scientific talents. Through this playground, the spirit of research and creativity in universities continues to spread, creating motivation for students and young lecturers to develop their potential, find new research directions, linked to real life and develop national science and technology.
This year, the award attracted 628 topics from students from 112 universities across the country. Many projects expressed creative ideas, with high applicability, and were interested by businesses and investors, supporting the development in the direction of innovative start-ups. Some topics have been published in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals. Topic groups are divided into 6 fields: Natural sciences; engineering and technology; medical and pharmaceutical sciences; agricultural sciences; social sciences and humanities.

The 2025 final round was attended by nearly 400 students and 180 delegates who are instructors and leaders of higher education institutions with students achieving high achievements in scientific research.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Vu Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Information (Ministry of Education and Training) emphasized: Through scientific research activities at the faculty and school levels and prestigious awards such as the National Student Science and Technology Award 2025, students have the opportunity to accumulate experience, practice critical thinking, teamwork skills, write reports and present ideas. "This is a valuable asset for students to nurture their desire for in-depth research, contributing to the effective application of scientific knowledge in work and life later on," Dr. Binh shared.
