On August 29, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4, inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, visited and gave gifts to families affected by storm No. 5 in Yen Nhan commune, Thanh Hoa province.

Also attending were Colonel Vu Van Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command and agencies of the Military Region.

Currently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command is mobilizing nearly 100 officers and soldiers to Yen Nhan commune to help affected households overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The Commander of Military Region 4 and the working group inspected the situation of officers and soldiers performing their duties there; at the same time, visited, encouraged, and gave gifts to households whose houses had completely collapsed due to floods in Na Nghiu village.

The working group also visited, encouraged and gave gifts to the people who were evacuated at Yen Nhan Secondary School. Currently, at this school, there are 120 people living in a high-risk area for natural disasters, with no homes, and the village is isolated.

At the visited locations, Commander of Military Region 4 Ha Tho Binh sympathized with the heavy losses of the people of Yen Nhan commune; at the same time, he affirmed that the military forces will accompany the people and localities in overcoming the consequences and soon stabilizing the people's lives.

In the immediate future, Military Region 4 will dispatch 300 more officers and soldiers to Yen Nhan commune to support flood relief, bringing the number of mobilized officers and soldiers to nearly 400.

The Commander of Military Region 4 requested Yen Nhan commune and functional agencies of Thanh Hoa province to coordinate so that officers and soldiers can participate in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters most effectively.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4, visited teachers and students of Cam Ba Thuoc High School in Thuong Xuan commune and presented the school with funds to equip 4 functional classrooms.

According to Yen Nhan commune newspaper, storm No. 5 and the floods after the storm caused severe damage to infrastructure works and people's property in the area.

The floods completely collapsed 22 houses, severely damaged 58 houses and partially damaged 14 houses.

Due to the isolated terrain and interrupted communications, the commune has not been able to calculate the damage to agriculture and irrigation works.
