On December 8th, Mr. Arat Blui, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Giang District ( Quang Nam ), announced that the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment has just issued a decision recognizing 959 green lim trees and 11 ancient banyan trees in the locality as Vietnamese Heritage Trees.
An ancient green lim tree is located within a complex recognized as a Vietnamese Heritage Tree.
959 green ironwood trees in the rare ironwood forest area of Ta Ry and Porning villages (Lang commune, Tay Giang district), and 11 ancient banyan trees in Ating village (Ga Ry commune, Tay Giang district) will enjoy preferential conditions as stipulated by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment after being recognized as Vietnamese Heritage Trees.
According to Mr. Arat Blui, this result was achieved after the efforts of the local government and community of Tay Giang in zoning, managing, and protecting the area over the past period.
The People's Committee of Tay Giang District will continue to implement measures to strengthen protection, demarcate areas, and open up opportunities for the development of eco- tourism and experiential tourism to serve visiting tourists.
Previously, also in Tay Giang District, the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment recognized 1,146 cypress trees, 435 rhododendron trees, 5 ancient banyan trees, and 1 mahogany tree as Vietnamese Heritage Trees.
