Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Quang Ngai province identifies investment in transportation infrastructure as one of its breakthrough tasks and a crucial requirement to promote development, trade, and serve the travel needs of the people.

According to Mr. Giang, in the recent period, Quang Ngai has invested heavily in infrastructure development projects, especially transportation projects. Notably, the province has implemented a series of large-scale transportation projects with investment capital of around 10,000 billion VND, such as the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road; the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road; the Tra Khuc 3 bridge; the Thach Bich - Tinh Phong road, etc.

During the implementation process, the locality faced numerous challenges such as compensation and land clearance... However, Quang Ngai province has gradually focused on resolving these bottlenecks, completing the projects early, and putting them into operation to maximize the effectiveness of the investment resources.

"The province will make maximum use of resources to continue investing in infrastructure, especially transportation projects that have been included in the public investment plan. This is a requirement for the local development," Mr. Giang shared.

Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 1320/QD-TTg, promulgating the Plan for implementing the Quang Ngai Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, Quang Ngai will prioritize investment in infrastructure projects with the potential to create a significant ripple effect, especially strategic transportation infrastructure for the province. The Quang Ngai Department of Transport stated that, to achieve the planned transportation investment targets, the locality will closely follow the national planning guidelines, developing transportation infrastructure that is synchronized, modern, interconnected, and promotes regional connectivity.

"Transforming" the transportation infrastructure of the Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Despite being a hub for many large-scale projects and a driving force for the province, the Dung Quat Economic Zone suffers from limited transportation infrastructure. The project to upgrade and expand the transportation infrastructure system within the Dung Quat Economic Zone, approved by the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, will significantly contribute to overcoming this obstacle. The project is managed by the Management Board of the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Quang Ngai Province, with a total investment of 350 billion VND and a planned completion date of 2024-2027.

A series of roads will be upgraded and expanded, including: the Tri Binh - Thien Dang roundabout road; the Thien Dang roundabout - Chu Lai road; the road connecting National Highway 1A - Tinh Phong - Binh Tan (phase I); the Lam Vien - Van Tuong road…

According to Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, the project to upgrade and expand the transportation infrastructure system in the Dung Quat Economic Zone aims to gradually complete the transportation routes and technical infrastructure according to the plan; ensure smooth connectivity between the Dung Quat Economic Zone and surrounding areas, and promptly meet the needs of transporting goods, supplies, materials, and the production and business activities of enterprises in the area.

At the same time, this project also contributes to creating favorable conditions for attracting investment, developing socio-economic activities; and strengthening national security and defense, as well as traffic safety for people in the area.

“The Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board, as the project's investor, is actively coordinating with relevant departments, agencies, and localities to review and prioritize the construction of essential projects; paying attention to land clearance to avoid affecting the project's progress; and ensuring resources are available to complete the project on time and with guaranteed quality,” Mr. Hien said.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, shared that he is deeply concerned about developing the province's tourism industry, given Ly Son Island and many other scenic spots. However, for tourism to develop, it needs good infrastructure, beautiful roads with seamless connections, modern seaport infrastructure, and other necessary facilities.

"Therefore, the province will allocate resources to invest in transportation infrastructure connecting with tourist destinations in a rational manner to create momentum for tourism to break through and develop to its full potential. When tourism develops, it will create livelihoods for the people in the region and other related activities will develop together," Mr. Giang shared.
