Quang Tri ensures progress of two key traffic projects

Two key traffic projects of Quang Tri province, the Eastern Bypass Road of Dong Ha City and the Coastal Road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, are being actively implemented by investors to ensure the set progress.

Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung has just inspected the site of key road traffic construction investment projects in the province. The inspection was also attended by Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien and leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities.

The delegation inspected the progress of the Dong Ha City Eastern Bypass project - Section from Doc Mieu to National Highway 9, Cua Viet port section to National Highway 1.

This project has its starting point intersecting with National Highway 1 at Km741+107 in Phong Binh commune, Gio Linh district; its end point intersecting with National Highway 9, the section from Cua Viet port to National Highway 1, at Km10+300 in Gio Quang commune, Gio Linh district. The total investment of the project is 399.96 billion VND.

The route is 13.3 km long with the main scale of a Class III plain road, 12 m wide roadbed, 11 m wide asphalt concrete road surface. Implementation progress from 2021-2024.

The project passes through 7 communes, wards and towns including: Gio Quang commune, Gio Chau commune, Gio My commune, Gio Mai commune, Phong Binh commune, Gio Linh town (Gio Linh district) and Dong Giang ward (Dong Ha city) with a total land acquisition area of ​​about 38 hectares. The number of affected households is 487 households.

At the site, the project has completed handing over 3.1/13.3 km of clean land to the construction unit in Gio Quang commune; basically completed site clearance of about 1.2 km through Gio Linh town and will hand over to the construction unit on February 23, 2024; the remaining part has basically completed inventory, pricing, approval of compensation funds and is making payments for site clearance.

For the Dong Ha City Eastern Bypass Project - the section from Nguyen Hoang Street intersection to the South of Hieu River Bridge, the project has a total investment of 230 billion VND with a length of 4.26 km with the main scale of a level III plain road, 12 m wide roadbed, 11 m wide asphalt concrete road surface. Project implementation progress from 2023 - 2025.

The project passes through Dong Le ward and Dong Luong ward, Dong Ha city with a total land acquisition area of ​​about 16.93 hectares; the number of affected households is about 259 households. Through actual inspection, it shows that, up to now, the project management board has completed the work of setting up land clearance stakes and signing the ownership certificate.

During the inspection trip, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Vo Van Hung emphasized that the Dong Ha city eastern bypass project is an important traffic project in creating a bypass route through Dong Ha and Gio Linh urban areas, ensuring traffic safety.

Chairman Vo Van Hung requested the Quang Tri Department of Transport - the project investor - to actively coordinate with departments and branches to complete investment procedures; coordinate with localities to speed up site clearance progress.

In addition, properly handle intersections through Dong Ha city and Gio Linh town to ensure traffic safety and smooth connection. Localities focus human resources to speed up site clearance progress.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province also requested contractors to speed up construction progress when the site is clean; construct the project with quality according to the design; focus on handling areas with weak ground to improve the quality of the project, and soon complete the project and put it into operation as planned.

Checking at the Coastal Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor. This is a key project of Quang Tri province in the period of 2021 - 2025. The project has a total length of 55 km, passing through Vinh Linh, Gio Linh, Trieu Phong districts and Dong Ha city, invested by the Quang Tri Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.

In phase 1, the project invested in a 48.2 km long route with a total investment of VND2,060 billion. The project has disbursed VND661.3 billion.

According to the report of the Project Management Board, up to now, the cadastral survey work has been basically completed; land valuation has been completed; inventory and pricing of about 1,195 households/2,541 households; compensation, support and resettlement plans have been approved for 135 households/45,143 million VND... It is expected that in 2024, localities will hand over the entire site to the construction contractor.

At the inspection, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Vo Van Hung requested the investor to coordinate with departments, branches and localities to handle tasks such as design adjustment, site clearance, and conversion of land and forest use purposes. Localities should propagate and mobilize people about the project's policy, striving to complete site clearance work in 2024.

At the same time, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province also requested construction units to focus on human resources and equipment to speed up construction progress when the site is clear. Strive to complete the project to celebrate the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term.
