Que Son solemnly held the 50th Anniversary of Homeland Liberation Day

Attending the ceremony were: Lieutenant General Le Chiem - former Member of the Central Committee of the Party, former Deputy Minister of National Defense ; Major General Le Ngoc Hai - Commander of Military Region 5; Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, along with other provincial leaders and former leaders, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, generals, veterans, families with revolutionary merit, and a large number of people.

Delivering a speech at the commemoration ceremony, Mr. Dinh Nguyen Vu, Secretary of the Que Son District Party Committee, recalled the indomitable and heroic fighting tradition of our army and people in the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism.

On this day 50 years ago, amidst the offensive and uprising of the army and people nationwide, under the leadership of the Party, and directly the Party Committee of Military Region 5 and the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, the main units of Military Region 5, the province, along with local armed forces and people, bravely fought and simultaneously attacked enemy strongholds and headquarters, achieving resounding victories and liberating Que Son district.

The speech emphasized that the liberation of Que Son was a historically significant event in the long and arduous revolutionary struggle and sacrifices of the army and people of Que Son under the glorious banner of the Party; it was also a milestone of victory for the indomitable spirit and will of the local armed forces and people, "Not an inch will be given up, not a millimeter will be surrendered," and a resounding oath that echoed throughout the mountains and rivers: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom."

Place names and village names such as Cà Tang, Nông Sơn, Trung Phước, Hòn Tàu, Bà Rén, Gò Dê, Mộc Bài, Dương Là, Liệt Kiểm, Cấm Dơi, Hòn Chiêng... are associated with glorious victories and will forever embellish the glorious history of the army and people of Quế Sơn during the years of struggle to liberate their homeland.

Mr. Dinh Nguyen Vu affirmed that present and future generations will forever be proud of the glorious achievements, sacrifices, contributions, and steadfast, indomitable examples of their forefathers. The land of Que Son will always remember and be immensely grateful to the generations of ancestors who fell and sacrificed their blood to create this resounding triumphant anthem.

Those generations may be gone, but that spirit will surely endure forever. That spirit will forever be a guiding light for everyone on the road ahead, a source of motivation that encourages generations of cadres, soldiers of the armed forces, and people in the district to continue training and striving for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

After liberation, the Party Committee of Que Son district focused on leading the people to quickly stabilize their lives and begin rebuilding their homeland from the ruins of war. Over 50 years of construction and development, the locality has made significant achievements in all fields.

Mr. Dinh Nguyen Vu stated that in recent years, Que Son's economy has experienced rapid and sustainable growth. Production value has increased by an average of 8.23% annually, the economic structure has shifted in line with established guidelines, per capita income has reached 55 million VND/person/year, and the poverty rate has now decreased to 3.69%.

With the motto of both leveraging local resources and taking advantage of support from higher levels and other sources, the infrastructure, transportation system, schools, irrigation, and other social welfare facilities in Que Son have been comprehensively invested in and built. The new rural development program has been implemented vigorously with the enthusiastic participation of the people, and to date, 12 out of 15 communes in the district have met the new rural development standards…

Alongside economic development, the socio-cultural sector of Que Son has also undergone significant transformation. Policies and regulations concerning families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, and those who have contributed to the revolution are being addressed promptly and correctly. Healthcare for the people is receiving increasing attention, and national health programs are being actively implemented.

The cultural and sports sectors have seen significant progress and development, expanding widely from the district level to the villages. The quality of cultural life has improved. The communication system is becoming increasingly complete, contributing to better serving the spiritual life of the people throughout the district…

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet congratulated Que Son on its achievements over the past 50 years of construction and development. He stated that today's achievements are the culmination of patriotism, indomitable will, unity, perseverance, and continuous creativity of the Party Committee and all the people of Que Son. However, the road ahead still presents many difficulties and challenges, requiring the locality to look towards the future with renewed effort, determination, and aspirations.

“Our country is entering an era of strong development with the aspiration to rise to the level of powerful nations; striving to become a high-income developing country by 2030, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party; and to become a developed country by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the nation.”

"The Party Committee and people of Que Son, with their unwavering revolutionary tradition, spirit of unity and creativity, will certainly be at the forefront in fulfilling this noble task and goal. To realize that aspiration, the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations at all levels of the district, having already made their determination, must be even more determined; having already made their efforts, they must make even greater efforts; having already been resolute, they must be even more resolute..." - said Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.

Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet suggested that Que Son district should focus on building a clean and strong Party committee and political system in the coming period; improving the quality of management and administration. He also emphasized the need to concentrate on leading, directing, and concretizing the major policies of the central and provincial governments.

In particular, special attention should be paid to the key tasks of streamlining, consolidating, and building a lean, efficient, and effective political system; mobilizing all resources; accelerating and breaking through in development; and striving to achieve annual growth of double digits or more.

At the same time, focus on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, viewing these as crucial breakthroughs to serve future development.

Strengthen the fight against corruption, waste, and negative practices. Prepare and successfully organize grassroots Party congresses when new policies are introduced, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party…
