On the morning of November 17, due to prolonged heavy rain, National Highway 1 through Cam Lam and Cam Ranh areas was heavily flooded. Many sections were so deeply flooded that motorbikes could not pass through and cars could not move, causing traffic jams that stretched for many kilometers.

In Cam Ranh area, the deepest flooded section is My Ca intersection and many sections in Bac Cam Ranh ward. Many houses along both sides of National Highway 1 were flooded, and had to be covered with sandbags and boards to prevent water from entering their houses. Some streets of Nguyen Cong Tru (Bac Cam Ranh ward) and Lap Dinh - Suoi Mon (Cam Lam commune) were also deeply flooded, making it impossible for vehicles to pass. Authorities had to set up checkpoints and assign guards to prevent people and vehicles from passing.
