Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Savannakhet Province.

During the working program in Savannakhet province (Laos), today, December 10, the delegation of Quang Tri province led by Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong visited and paid a courtesy visit to Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Savannakhet province Bun-chom U-Bon-Pa-Sot. Attending were representatives of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet and representatives of functional agencies and border localities of the two provinces.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Savannakhet Province Bun-chom U-Bon-Pa-Sot informed about some aspects of the local socio -economic situation in recent times. At the same time, he highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between the Border Steering Committees of the two provinces, which has created conditions for departments, branches, sectors and localities of the two provinces to exchange, support and learn from each other's experiences.

In recent times, Savannakhet province has coordinated with Quang Tri province to carry out propaganda, education and mobilization work for people in border areas to comply with legal documents on the border between Vietnam and Laos signed by the two governments. The province is also directing functional forces to deploy solutions to prevent and combat crimes in border areas; illegal migration, unregistered marriages; stabilize people's nationality and life, and promote the issuance of identity cards to people in border areas.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Savannakhet Province thanked Quang Tri Province for supporting the locality in many areas. He also hoped that in the coming time, the two sides would continue to cooperate and support each other more effectively in poverty reduction, improving people's lives, promoting the effectiveness of the village-to-village twinning model, protecting national border markers, etc., contributing to strengthening and developing the Vietnam-Laos relationship in general and Quang Tri-Savannakhet in particular to become increasingly sustainable.

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong informed the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Savannakhet province about the province's development strategy and orientation in the coming time as well as the leadership personnel work that has just been transferred and appointed by the central government in Quang Tri province.

At the same time, he emphasized: In recent times, the two provinces have cooperated very well with each other in many fields, especially activities in the Lao Bao Special Economic - Trade Zone, the strategy to build a common cross-border economic and trade zone Lao Bao - Densavan... is being promoted and implemented very well. Residents on both sides of the border also regularly visit, exchange trade, and share models for economic development together.

The Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also conveyed the greetings of the new Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai to the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Savannakhet Province Bun-chom U-Bon-Pa-Sot and respectfully invited the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Savannakhet Province and the delegation of Savannakhet Province to visit and work in Quang Tri as soon as possible, contributing to creating conditions for the sectors and localities of the two provinces to implement closer cooperation.
