The Campaign Organizing Committee calls on all people to join hands to support and help poor, disabled and orphaned children improve their nutrition and living conditions, contributing to building a compassionate community, healthy children, and physical and intellectual development.
On the afternoon of May 15, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society coordinated with the National Humanitarian Information Portal 1400, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children, and the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights to launch the fundraising campaign "Accompanying poor and disabled children".
The campaign is part of a series of activities for Humanitarian Month 2023 and the "Nutrition for poor and disabled children" program launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
The fundraising campaign “Accompanying poor and disabled children” was launched to mobilize people nationwide to join hands to support resources to support food, transportation, kitchens, clean water and sanitation facilities for poor, disabled, orphaned children, children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, children in especially difficult areas, contributing to improving nutrition and living conditions for them.
The Campaign will run from May 12, 2023 to July 10, 2023 with two forms of support.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Bui Thi Hoa said that in order for the program to spread widely in the community, mobilizing the joint efforts of departments, unions, social organizations, especially organizations with the task of caring for, protecting, and assisting poor, disabled, orphaned children, and children in especially difficult circumstances, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society proposed the initiative and received the approval of the organizations, signing an inter-sectoral cooperation agreement in implementing the program "Accompanying poor and disabled children" with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights, and the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children.
Accordingly, the units agreed to carry out propaganda campaigns/activities and receive support from domestic and foreign units, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists; mobilize cadres and members in the vertical sector from the central to the grassroots levels to send messages and support; integrate into activities and events of the launching organizations.
At the same time, promote propaganda activities on the unit's media to widely share with people nationwide the forms of support and assistance needs of children in need of help from the community.
Highlights in the communication and mobilization activities of the Program will be focused on the following events: National Children's Summer Camp organized by the Central Council of the Young Pioneers on May 28 in Ho Chi Minh City; Sunflower Summer Camp Welcomes the Sun in 2023 in Hanoi organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in the first week of June 2023; "Spreading Love" Workshop organized by the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children in Hanoi scheduled for June 20; integrated into activities during the Month of Action for Children in 2023 of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights; Launching Ceremony of the Humanitarian Month in 2023 of the Red Cross at all levels in May.
It is expected that after checking the support sources, the program will be summarized on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival or the beginning of the new school year 2023. The entire funding mobilized from the program will be agreed upon by the co-organizing units in terms of content, support methods, implementation areas, etc. to ensure practicality, effectiveness and dissemination of the program's messages and goals.
