Thai Nguyen Women's Club elevates its strength.

On November 20th, at the headquarters of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, a sponsorship contract was signed between T&T Group and the Thai Nguyen Women's Football Club. This is the second time T&T Group has signed a sponsorship contract with the women's football team from the tea-producing region, following the first one in 2019.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province; Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of T&T Group; and Mr. Mai Xuan Son, General Director of T&T Group.

In 2019, following media reports about the difficulties faced by the Thai Nguyen women's football team and the risk of its dissolution, the leaders of T&T Group took notice and sought to support the team. At that time, the initial income of a female player in Thai Nguyen was between 1.5 million and 2 million VND per month, while the regional minimum wage in Thai Nguyen was 3.25 million VND/month. Many female players had to temporarily put aside their passion for football to work as factory workers in the local area.

Thai Nguyen Women's Club currently boasts a quality squad with talented players such as Ngoc Minh Chuyen and Bich Thuy.

In light of this situation, T&T Group decided to provide comprehensive sponsorship for the Thai Nguyen women's football club for 5 years. The team increased the minimum salary for players to 6 million VND/month, with key players earning 10 million VND/month or more.

After stabilizing their team, in 2022, Thai Nguyen T&T Club caused a shock by making an unprecedented move by paying transfer fees for female players. The team decided to sign defender Nguyen Thi My Anh and striker Le Hoai Luong in 2022, after their contracts with Ho Chi Minh City FC expired. Recently, Thai Nguyen T&T continued to sign three more players from Ho Chi Minh City FC: 2023 Golden Ball winner Tran Thi Kim Thanh, 2023 Bronze Ball winner Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, and defender Tran Thi Thu.

In addition, youth training has received more attention, with the annual recruitment target increasing from 7 to 20 players. Thanks to this, the Thai Nguyen U.19 women's football team won bronze medals at the national championships in 2022 and 2024. The team also boasts Ngoc Minh Chuyen, the best young female player of 2023. Thai Nguyen also contributed 3 players to the Vietnam U.20 women's national team.

Recently, the Thai Nguyen women's team signed contracts with head coach Van Thi Thanh and goalkeeping coach Dang Thi Kieu Trinh. Both are figures who have made significant contributions to Vietnamese women's football and have won the prestigious Golden Ball award. Coach Van Thi Thanh is currently the only female coach in Vietnam with an AFC Pro license (the highest qualification of the Asian Football Confederation), and has previously served as an assistant coach for the Vietnamese women's national team as well as coaching youth teams.

In 2024, for the first time in history, the Thai Nguyen women's football team won a bronze medal at the national championship. At the international women's football tournament, which included Hanoi and two guest teams, Beijing FC and Manila Digger, Coach Van Thi Thanh led Thai Nguyen T&T to victory. This was a huge morale boost for Coach Van Thi Thanh and the Thai Nguyen T&T players.

At the signing ceremony for the second sponsorship contract, T&T Group awarded 500 million VND to Thai Nguyen Women's Football Club for winning the bronze medal at the 2024 National Women's Football Championship.

Thai Nguyen Women's Club's New Goal

After five years of successful collaboration, which has been a prime example of the socialization of sports, both parties have agreed to renew the contract to embark on a new cycle with even stronger progress. The new contract has a five-year term with a significantly increased sponsorship level compared to the previous one.

T&T Group will support Thai Nguyen women's football in developing a strategic plan aimed at achieving higher goals. With its successful experience in managing, training, and developing men's football, T&T Group will also allocate resources to support the selection, screening, training, and development of athletes; providing and guiding the implementation of training programs to improve the effectiveness of training and competition. At the same time, Thai Nguyen women's football will also receive support from experienced coaches with good expertise and professional skills.
