In his opening speech, Colonel, Journalist Do Phu Tho , Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper, emphasized the special significance of the event, associated with important milestones of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Vietnam People's Army.

He said the timing of the book's launch has cultural and political significance as it takes place before the 14th Party Congress, in the context of the "Quad Pillar Resolution" being widely implemented.

According to Colonel Do Phu Tho, the content of the book “Breakthrough Thinking” discusses the fight against “internal invaders” and the recent “Quad Pillar Resolution” of the Politburo - issues that directly affect the fate of the Party and the country. Meanwhile, the poetry collection “Why Love” contains many reflections of soldiers, bringing humanistic depth to readers. The organizing committee hopes that the two publications will be widely distributed to cadres, party members and veterans.

Colonel, Journalist Nguyen Hoa Van was born in Vung Ang (Ha Tinh). He was the Deputy Commander of the Ha Tinh Border Guard before moving to journalism. He held the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Border Guard Newspaper for 15 years and is known through television exchange programs on VTV, the series "Border Guard Chronicle", "Sea and Island Chronicle".

After retiring, he became a sharp political writer, especially since holding the position of Director of the Vietnam Journalists Association Electronic Information Portal. He is the author of the software initiative to track the removal/editing of electronic articles, contributing to limiting the situation of "posting in the morning - meeting at noon - removing in the afternoon", and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Propaganda Department in 2017.

At the launching ceremony, scientists and delegates highly appreciated the author’s critical thinking and professional qualities. Dr. Hoang Xuan Luong commented that Nguyen Hoa Van’s articles were “direct, even harsh, but always pointed out solutions”.

Major General Nguyen Hong Thai said that "Breakthrough Thinking" is a "collection of highly critical political essays", contributing to helping the public understand the spirit of the Politburo's Resolutions.

Scientists and delegates discussed two new publications.

Right from the first series of articles “If you can fight, you will succeed” (8 issues), Nguyen Hoa Van made a big splash and won the first A Prize of the National Press Award on preventing and fighting corruption and negativity. From 2017-2020, he wrote more than 50 articles on this topic, of which half were selected for “Breakthrough Thinking”.

Many of his articles have won the National Press Award, the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award and have been regularly reviewed by VTV: "If you can resist 'running', you will succeed"; "The art of war against internal invaders"; "Resolving paradoxes on the chosen path"; "Current events and patriotism"...

The two publications “Breakthrough Thinking” and “Why Love” were released by the Writers Association Publishing House at the end of November 2025, carrying the message of promoting Heart and Talent, combining political courage with the humanistic depth of a writer who experienced war and many years of dedication to the cause of Party building and national defense.

If “Why Love” is rich in lyricism, criticizing society through poetic language, “Breakthrough Thinking” affirms political courage, fighting against corruption, and protecting the truth. Both works convey a humanistic message: the heart is the foundation, the talent is the foundation.

In the introduction to the book “Breakthrough Thinking”, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen The Ky, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Head of the Department of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art, wrote: “Reading the articles on the topic of fighting against 'internal invaders' by Nguyen Hoa Van, readers can identify relatively fully, in depth, and systematically the current situation, causes, and consequences of corruption, waste, negativity, and the risks and challenges that cannot be pushed back and overcome overnight. Using the opinions of experts, the press, and his own opinion, author Nguyen Hoa Van presents a number of explanations and solutions to bring the fight against 'internal invaders' to more substantial and solid results.”
