After more than two decades of absence, the Honda Prelude has officially returned to the market with an all-new 2026 version – a sporty coupe featuring modern styling and advanced hybrid technology. First appearing as a concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, the 2026 Honda Prelude retains most of the design lines from the original model. The vehicle adopts the "Unlimited Glide" design philosophy, mimicking the fluidity of a glider, with a low front end.
The 2026 Honda Prelude features an aerodynamic body design with sculpted lines, flat door handles, wing-shaped LED lights, and blue accents – a hallmark of its hybrid powertrain. The interior is finished in a blue-and-white color scheme, features an embroidered Prelude logo, and uses premium soft materials. The liftback design allows for expanded cargo space, combined with 60:40 split-folding seats and an additional cargo floor. The 2026 Prelude uses a new generation e:HEV powertrain, consisting of a 2.0L engine combined with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 183 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque.
The engine is paired with an e-CVT transmission that simulates 8 speeds via the Honda S+ Shift system. The car integrates Active Sound Control (ASC) and various driving modes, including: Comfort, Sport, GT, and Individual. The chassis is shared with the Civic Type R, featuring a dual-axis strut front suspension, adaptive dampers, Brembo brakes, and 19-inch wheels with noise reduction technology. Honda Sensing is standard equipment, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, collision mitigation braking assist, and traffic jam assist. The starting price for the 2026 Honda Prelude is 6,179,800 yen (approximately $41,600 USD - over 1 billion VND).
In Japan, Honda also launched the limited-edition Prelude ON Limited Edition and offered the option to experience the vehicle through short-term leasing. Production is limited to approximately 300 units per month. Video : Introducing the new 2026 Honda Prelude sports car.
