The People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed to review the content of the person claiming to be a teacher reflecting on the situation of overcharging at a school in Cai Nuoc district.
On February 27, according to Thanh Nien reporter's source, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has just directed to review the content of a clip circulating on social networks, in which a person claiming to be a teacher reported on the situation of overcharging at a school in the area.
Previously, a clip appeared on social media by a person claiming to be NTG, a teacher at TQT Secondary School (Cai Nuoc District, Ca Mau), reflecting on the school's collection of many unreasonable fees from parents.
According to the clip, this person said that the school charges 50,000 VND/student/year for edu software, while this information can be done for free via Zalo group. In addition, the school also charges 40,000 VND/student/year for exam papers, test papers, and scratch papers, while these expenses have been supported by the Provincial People's Committee. The above teacher also emphasized that the school has no right to keep students' money or collect money to buy gifts for teachers on November 20.
In addition, the clip also mentioned other revenues such as class funds, teachers' birthday money, money for organizing March 8, year-end parties... The person who reported it estimated that the total amount of money the school had wrongly collected could be up to more than 200 million VND.
In response to the above incident, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has assigned the People's Committee of Cai Nuoc district to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to review and report specifically on the content of the reflection. At the same time, the province also requested to organize a review and handle according to regulations if violations are detected.
The Provincial People's Committee also directed the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committees of districts and Ca Mau City to strengthen inspection and rectify the situation of overcharging in educational institutions. Cases of illegal collection will be strictly handled to ensure the rights of students and parents.
